"The highlight of this hotel, aside from it's obvious beauty and charm, is the staff. I had an issue with my room when I arrived, and they took immediate action to move me to a better suited room. Everyone I spoke to, from check in to bag holding to the gift shop, was kind, helpful, and eager to help. Also, I bought a scarf/shawl from the gift shop that saved me on this trip during the chilly Chicago nights. It even inspired my friend to pick one up, too! I also grabbed some Garrett's popcorn for my mother-in-law from the gift shop, which was great because it saved me from having to go to the actual shop for it. I will say the breakfast buffet was just okay, not worth the price in my opinion. But the little food shop by the elevators was very good and had pretty much everything I wanted and needed. My only complaint is that the air conditioning in the rooms was very finicky. I know it's an older hotel though. My first room had an AC problem and was even a little musty smelling, and while my second room was much better smelling, the AC still didn't get very cold, so I woke up quite often during the night due to being too warm. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this hotel and would stay here again."

"We get there after a bad experience with another hotel in Chicago and this was a “Eureka”!!! The hotel is comfortable and well maintained, next door is a Coffee Shop (They give you a 10% discount card at the Front Desk) Is literally across the street from China Town and a Walgreens, at walking distance from the water taxi and the public transportation. Great location and very helpful staff. Pura Vida!!"

"Overall had a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed our room, which was quite large and comfortable. A little noisy with our window facing the alley. The first doorman we interacted with was absolutely delightful and so helpful. Unfortunately the other shift was covered by a somewhat surly and very unhelpful staff member. Front desk staff was pleasant. The cafe connected to the hotel had very good food with a huge menu and reasonable prices. Overall, it was a solid hotel in a great location with a very good price."

"I had to switch rooms. The first room, the towel bar had fallen and the AC would not turn on but the young lady at the front desk helped me and it wasn't an issue (I didn't want to be charged for damages!) I was able to switch to a much better room in less than 5 mins. There are a lot of food choices in the area within walking distance so that was nice. The airport shuttle was the biggest thing for me. It came as expected and brought you to/from the airport very quickly. Everyone was very friendly. I don't usually stay at hotels like this but it was a quick in and out for a business trip. I was there just for the night (less than 12 hrs), I slept, showered, etc. It did the job!"
