We really enjoyed our stay and appreciated how close it is to the town, the little sunny yard, the lovely bedroom in the eaves and how comfortable the beds are. "A lovely cottage with history and character. As mentioned in the listings it would not be suitable for someone very tall or with difficulties. Facilities are excellent everything you need supplied. Parking is free but beware spaces can be all taken - it states 23 hours stay - no return for an hour, so be aware there is a car park attendant around! Cottage is within easy reach of the town and Abbey. A lovely stay"

"Having read previous reviews, our expectations were low. Only to find in booking in that the rooms were very good. Spacious, clean and with good facilities. The only criticism internally was the carpet could benefit from either cleaning or replacing. The stairwells could also benefit from a paint refresh. The staff go beyond on providing customer service and trust they are getting rewarded accordingly. The food, although the service was slow, the evening meal was very good but the portions were on the small side. More garlic bread with the Chilli please. The breakfast was excellent. Now the golf course, the greens regardless of the fact that we were told they were being maintained they are the worst greens we have seen in 50 years of playing golf elsewhere. One of our party was friends with the previous owner 10 years ago and the course then was immaculate. It still has the same potential but needs investment.Then it would be a lovely place to come for Golfing Weekend and also maybe a Wedding venue. My final statement, is that you ran out of Guinness."

"The room was clean, but small. It was nice that they provide a free continental breakfast every morning. They don’t have a lot to offer as far as their menu the rest of the day though. I like that they have a working water wheel out there, but I only got to see it briefly for a few minutes since it was only on for a brief time during our stay. If you stay there take advantage of the public foot paths and wander around because the area is absolutely gorgeous. The room has good circulation. It was nice that they let us store our baggage before check-in."
