"We stayed here for 3 nights and will absolutely return! The staff were very nice. They don’t clean the room everyday but the cleaning staff are present, helpful and available to get you anything you need. Everyone was honestly so sweet. The room was clean, the bed frames are metal which I really appreciated to reduce the likelihood of unwanted bugs of which there were none. The beds were comfortable. We brought our own pillows because we are old enough to get stiff necks but the pillows they provided seemed cushy enough. The shower was my favorite part. It felt like a luxury to have the rainshower, mister, handheld shower combo after a long day on the beach. Just a note to bring a stopper to block the drain if you need the tub. This is a problem in almost every hotel we visit so we just travel with one now but it could easily be purchased at the CVS down the road. Almost everything you need is in walking distance. We brought some paper bowls, spoons, Cheerios and milk and ate them on the picnic table overlooking the boardwalk every morning since breakfast options were limited at normal 5 y/o wake up time. Our kids loved the pool! It was a little chilly for us old folks but nothing you can’t get used to. I really liked the turf around the pool; cozy on the feet and the blue and green together just looked so much nicer than the usual concrete patio. You can’t beat the location. Boardwalk rides, arcade, restaurants, waterpark all within a block or 2. Can’t wait to return!"

"Get thrown back into the the 1800’s luxury with four post beds with plush thick mattresses and stunning bed coverings. Fireplaces everywhere with mood soothing original wood trims, floors and a staircase that is instagram worthy! An old fashioned game room that just calls for a glass of bourbon while you play some poker sitting in your black plush leather chairs. Breakfast at The Mathis House was amazing. Waitresses wearing fascinators and a smile! Great food and you must see the Parasol room!! Stroll through the mansion and truly immerse yourself into classic old fashioned opulence! 5 star experience!"

"If you're looking for a peaceful place to relax, the Mathis House is the place for you! It's a lovely mansion with a Victorian feel and a lot of history and many breathtaking rooms to explore. The decor is charming and the staff are welcoming and helpful. My room was clean, the bed was really comfortable, there was an abundance of plush towels as well as a bathrobe and handmade soap in the bathroom, and free Wi-Fi. There were finger pastries and coffee available throughout my stay. The breakfast was outstanding! The food was delicious, I had my own personal buffet of scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, sugar dusted blueberry pancakes, a lightly toasted croissant, orange juice, and coffee. I had to leave early on my second morning and had to miss breakfast, but I was given two of the most delicious scones and clotted cream I've ever had to take with me. The gift shop is loaded with charming gifts, soaps, jewelry, teas, etc., and there is free parking on the property. I highly recommend the Mathis House, you won't be disappointed."

"This house is our go to for our annual shore trip. The location is great and just a short drive to Seaside. Always clean and comfortable and checkin and checkout is a breeze. The best part is the outdoor space and pool which is always clean and well maintained."

"The house was perfect for our little getaway! The location was great, close to the deli, restaurants, coffee and donut shop directly next door. It was a nice little walk along the water to the swimming beach and a short drive to Seaside Heights."
