Charming, comfortable, well-appointed rental
Peggy and Tony's "barn" was the perfect accommodation for our visit to Galway. Located in a quiet neighborhood just outside of the city, and equipped with everything that a traveler could need or want. As an added bonus, we were able to meet Molly, the beautiful pony, and Pooey the cat! Communication with our hosts was easy. Highly recommend this rental.

wonderful stay
We loved The Barn and had a wonderful stay. It was quiet and peaceful, yet close to the city center of Galway. The apartment was spacious and very well equipped. Perfect for a family of 4 as a base to explore the surrounding area. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful. The pictures are lovely, but this property is even more beautiful in person!

Wonderful country lodging minutes from the city and ocean
Peggy and Tony were absolutely awesome hosts. They were very helpful, knowledgeable about the area, and accommodating! The lodging was beautiful and just like in the pictures. We loved the skylights, cows in the neighboring fields, the loft with TV and tons of books, and the very comfy beds. The drive in can be a bit of a hair-raiser if you’re not used to small country lanes (we weren’t!), but it was fantastic after a day in bustling Galway to feel like we’d escaped and gotten away from it all!

We absolutely loved it! The space is charming and quaint yet has all the modern coveniences anyone would need. We'd definitely love to come back and stay at Tony and Peggy's place again. They were very friendly and helpful as well.

Beautiful property and lovely hosts
It was a great spot for us to adjust to the time change and have space to do so, with everyone sleeping and waking at different times. Tony and Peggy are very welcoming and engaging; we thoroughly enjoyed them and their property. Thank you for your assistance navigating transport in and out of Galway city. Taxis were very easy to use to get back and forth as it isn’t a very walkable route with the roads. Thanks; we would definitely return if we get the opportunity.

Charming Hideaway
This was close enough to enjoy the city center and perfect for day trips to all the popular tourist spots. The house itself has all you need to enjoy your visit and the grounds come complete with a pony, Molly, cats, dogs and even cows and a white tail fox were seen over the wall. Tony and Peggy were enjoyable and informative hosts. We had a lovely time at the barn

Stylish Comfortable Cottage in Beautiful Setting
We loved our stay at this cottage. The owners were super understanding when we arrived early and needed to get to a bed as soon as possible due to a two-day stomach bug that was making its way around Ireland during out visit. But if you have to be sick somewhere, this place felt homey and welcoming, and Peggy even picked up some stuff from the store for us to help us recover. The barn has been renovated into a very cool cottage with all the comforts. The kitchen was good for cooking and the beds were very comfortable. Loved the comfy loft with great lighting for sketching in the mornings. The cottage is tucked up in a little area with a pasture that had a pony, Molly, and there were a couple of cats and a little dog at the main house, which we enjoyed (they aren't allowed in the rentals for allergy considerations). The road isn't walkable at all due to the narrowness of the two-way street with blind curves and hills, and the property itself only offers a brief short stroll down the driveway, so if roaming on foot is important to you, just be aware of that. But, all in all, this was our favorite accommodation during our two week tour of Ireland.

Beautiful Convenient Hideaway
Lovely renovated stone barn surrounded by lush trees and broken fields. Surprisingly close to city center, easy drive or taxi. Hosts were helpful with directions and came by to check all was ok after we had settled in. Spacious interior, fully appointed kitchen. Both baths comfortable and plenty of warm water! Excellent choice for a 'home base' exploring Connemara, Doolin, points south.

The Barn is as wonderful as the pictures show! Very comfortable for 4 adults. It is a close drive to Old Town Galway and a quiet retreat to relax. Very nice and Peggy is a wonderfully host!

The Barn is spacious and comfortable.and the hosts are so accommodating. Location is a bit hard to find especially in the dark but the setting is so peaceful. Beds are comfortable; didn’t use the kitchen but seemed well stocked. Would stay again.

LOVE this place AND space!
My husband and I stayed here during our 3-day stint in Galway. Wow. It is decorated so tastefully and happy, the bed was comfortable, kitchen was stocked, and Tony and Peggy were delightful, as well as their pony, Molly, who we fed carrots and apples. Closer to Galway restaurants and shops than we thought--the only caveat is the 1/2 mile country road is for just one car, so book this place, put on your headlights, and drive to this incredible property carefully. ;]

We absolutely loved staying at the Barn. It was very comfortable and felt like being at home. The house had everything needed to make meals in with plenty of seating. The beds we comfortable, the animals very friendly (especially one of the cats) and the bathrooms roomy. The house is a short drive from town and no problem to use taxi service to/from. Peggy and Tony were great hosts and very responsive to questions. I highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful Place and Location
The Barn was even more than we expected. It was only a few minutes from Galway, but in a rustic setting with greenery around and a friendly horse in the back. The plants and flowers were amazing and added to the ambiance of the location. The rooms were well appointed with everything we needed and there was ample parking. Peggy and Tony were excellent hosts who live on the property. The information they provided about The Barn and the area was very helpful in planning our Galway visit. It was a little colder in June than we anticipated, so some additional heat would have been helpful. Overall, it was a great place to stay while visiting Galway and the surrounding areas.

The oroperty is located on 2 acres and it is beautiful. The barn is quaint and stylish. You feel like you are in a private country home. The photos on the site do not do it justice. It is very bright inside, the art work is lovely and the barn has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We really enjoyed our 3 nights stay. Peggy and Tony are great hosts.

We really loved our stay here. Getting into Galway was easy, either a quick 10 minute drive to free parking at Salthill or a 10 minute taxi drive into the city for a night out. The house itself is really lovely with everything you could need. Very comfortable beds with a great shower. Great kitchen and loved the relaxing lounge area upstairs. Attractive outside area. A friendly welcome from the owners and their lovely animals. Highly recommended.

This cute and comfy little cottage was absolutely perfect for our visit to Galway. Wonderful getaway - serene and great location
Spacious, clean and historic accommodation. Very comfortable, private and secure. We felt very comfortable here - leaving early and returning after dinner for day trips all around the Connemara. Can’t Fault This Property
We loved this property so much we asked the owners, upon arrival, if we could extend our stay. One week turned into 10 days and our fab holiday began. Our horse mad daughter & son groomed Molly, the horse, as soon as they woke up every morning. The owners were fantastic hosts, the location is perfect as it’s less than 10 mins from city/Salthill but is out in the countryside. The house is charming, quirky & has everything one needs, plus some lovely extra touches. It’s a great base for exploring the charms of Connemara. We look forward to returning.
