About this property

The Gallatin Riverstead

  • Summary:

Set on more than seven acres along the Gallatin River, this distinctive Big Sky estate pairs a three-bedroom Main House with a two-bedroom Guest House, creating space for families and friends to gather while retaining privacy. The property sleeps 11 and features two full kitchens, river and mountain views, a private hot tub, fireplaces, generous indoor gathering spaces, and separate outdoor areas—all within easy reach of Big Sky adventures and Yellowstone day trips.

    The Space:

The Gallatin Riverstead is a two-home retreat designed for groups who want to spend time together without giving up personal space. The Main House and Guest House provide five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, two kitchens, and comfortable accommodations for up to 11 guests.

    THE MAIN HOUSE

The heart of the Main House is its light-filled gathering space, where floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of the Gallatin River and surrounding landscape. The adjoining living room features an oversized sectional, a stone gas fireplace, a large television, sound system, and vintage record player.

The well-equipped kitchen includes a gas range, double ovens, stainless-steel appliances, and generous preparation space. The dining table seats eight, with additional seating for three at the breakfast bar.

Two bedrooms are located on the main level: one with a king bed and one with a queen bed. These rooms share a full hallway bathroom with a rainfall shower.

Upstairs, the primary suite offers a king bed, private bathroom with a dual vanity and rainfall shower, a workspace, balcony, wraparound closet, stained-glass details, and expansive views.

    THE GUEST HOUSE

The separate Guest House gives a second family, grandparents, older children, or traveling companions their own place to unwind.

Its main level includes a full kitchen with a gas range and stainless-steel appliances, a comfortable living and dining area, television, and full bathroom. Both bedrooms are upstairs: one has a queen bed, while the second has a queen bed and twin bed.

    OUTDOOR LIVING

The estate’s outdoor spaces invite guests to slow down and enjoy the Montana setting. Relax in the private hot tub after a day of skiing or hiking, gather around the outdoor fire pits, or settle into the riverfront seating areas to take in the mountain and water views.

With two homes and several distinct gathering spaces, The Gallatin Riverstead is particularly well suited for extended families and groups traveling together.

    Guest Access:

Guests have private use of the Main House, Guest House, private hot tub, patios, outdoor seating areas, and designated grounds, except for any clearly marked owner-locked or utility spaces.

Digital entry instructions will be provided 48 hours before arrival. Parking is limited to the driveway; the garage is not available for guest parking.

A four-wheel-drive vehicle is required during the winter. Guests must follow all posted instructions and seasonal restrictions when using the hot tub, fireplaces, grill, and outdoor fire pits.

    The Neighborhood:

The Gallatin Riverstead sits on more than seven acres along the Gallatin River in Big Sky’s Meadow Village area. Its location provides a convenient base for skiing, hiking, biking, fly-fishing, and Yellowstone adventures while remaining within easy driving distance of Big Sky’s restaurants, shops, and services.

Guests can enjoy river and mountain views, generous outdoor space, and the privacy of a two-home estate. Because the property is located near Gallatin Road and Highway 191, passing traffic may occasionally be heard, particularly from the outdoor areas.

    Getting Around:

A private vehicle is necessary for getting around Big Sky and exploring the surrounding area. The home is accessed from Gallatin Road and is not within practical walking distance of shops, restaurants, or the ski resort.

Guest parking is limited to the driveway; the garage is not available for parking. During the winter, a four-wheel-drive vehicle with appropriate winter tires is required. Guests should monitor road and weather conditions and allow additional travel time during storms.

Our concierge team can also assist with airport transportation and rental-vehicle recommendations after booking.

    Interaction with Guests:

Five Star Big Sky provides attentive, locally supported service while respecting your privacy. Our team is available through the booking platform before and throughout your stay, and our local property-management team can assist with urgent needs at the home.

After booking, we can also help with concierge recommendations and arrangements, including transportation, grocery provisioning, private chefs, restaurant reservations, ski services, fly-fishing, Yellowstone excursions, and other seasonal experiences.
