About this property

NEW | Private Hot Tub | Hike | Gallatin Canyon, Fire Pit, Sleeps 12

  • Welcome to Silver Spruce Manor!

This log home is tucked into the pines, a private hot tub on the deck, and the Gallatin River close enough to walk to. Gallatin River Pines Lodge sits in Gallatin Canyon, about half an hour from Big Sky Resort. With six bedrooms and room for 12, The whole crew finally fits under one roof. This home sits on a loop that connects right back to Highway 191, which puts some of the canyon's best hiking a few minutes from the front door. Lava Lake, via the Cascade Creek Trailhead, is the local favorite: a moderate climb to an alpine lake ringed by the Spanish Peaks. Deer Creek is a steadier uphill into the quieter southern Spanish Peaks. Across the river off Storm Castle Road, the trail up Storm Castle Rock ends at a cliff-edged summit with views up and down the canyon. In the evening, you can wade into the river before dinner or just head back to the hot tub.

Upstairs, the primary bedroom has a king bed and French doors that open onto a balcony in the trees, a good spot for your morning coffee. Down the hall there's a queen room and two more bedrooms with full beds. Head downstairs to find another queen bedroom with a desk, handy if someone has to check email, plus a room with two twins right off the kitchen. That makes it easy to sort out who sleeps where, whether you're putting the kids together or giving the early risers some space. At the end of the day everyone ends up in the same place: the long wooden table under the antler chandelier, which seats the whole crew for dinner, or around the kitchen island, where the chef can still join the conversation.

Spend the day skiing Big Sky or casting a line on the Gallatin, then come home and fire up the grill on the wraparound deck. As the sun drops behind the canyon walls, sink into the hot tub, gather around the fire pit on the lawn or pile onto the sectional for movie night. On cold nights the stone fireplace in the great room is where everyone ends up. Book it once and you'll be planning the next trip before you even leave.

    Winter
Big Sky Resort is the biggest skiing in America, and it earns that title every single year. With 5,800 skiable acres, 4,350 feet of vertical drop, and an average of 400+ inches of snowfall annually, it delivers for every level of skier and rider. When you are ready to step off the slopes, the historic Lone Mountain Ranch has 85+ kilometers of groomed Nordic trails through the wilderness, voted the #1 cross-country ski resort in North America. Beyond that, Yellowstone National Park, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice fishing, and world-class spa experiences are all within easy reach.

    Summer
The mountains do not slow down when the snow melts. Within minutes you have world-class fly fishing, river rafting, golf, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and zip-lining at your doorstep. Follow the scenic Gallatin River along historic Highway 191 and you are at the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park in just 45 minutes. Stay long enough and you will find free concerts, farmers markets, and weekly events scattered throughout the season.
