Beautiful country setting with pond on acreage. Come stay and enjoy being close to kayaking, hiking, driving the parkway, wineries, etc. Non-Smoking and well behaved and house trained pets welcome. Everything about my stay was top notch. The property was the cleanest I ever had the pleasure of visiting. The owner got back to me immediately during the initial contact and made the coordination as simple as possible. I will definitely stay again when I am in the area.

Great stay

We needed an easy overnight stay on a trip to visit family with our dog. Check in and out was very simple. The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed. Getting into town and to the highway was pretty easy. Had a great stay.

Great place

Stayed one night on a long drive from Toronto to Florida. Exactly what i was looking for - a comfortable, clean place. It's very charming, the hosts are great, and it was better than the pictures. Super quiet, and very comfortable bed. Would definitely stay here sgain.

Pleasant!!

The bed was very comfortable and the sheets and pillows were luxurious. It was a pleasant overnight stay! It's conveniently located near Rex Theater where we enjoyed the Bluegrass concert last evening. We would happily stay here again for a quiet getaway

Nice cottage near Galax

We love staying in this cottage. It’s perfect for a couple to enjoy a weekend or even a lengthy visit. The house is furnished well and is decorated perfectly. The rooms are large and the porch is a perfect for relaxing and enjoying the country view. The location is convenient to all attractions in the area.

Perfect Birthday Weekend

We have stayed with Kathy several times and her homes never disappoint. They are clean and welcoming in a beautiful rural setting. The fact that they are the closest rentals to our son and DIL is the icing on the cake. Kathy is excellent at communication and I know we will stay at Shepherd's Rest again.

Great Stay

Excellent location near the Blue Ridge Music Center on the parkway. It was very easy to get back and forth and great scenery on the parkway and the drive back and forth to the cottage. My wife and I came for a concert at the Center Saturday night and enjoyed the noon time music at the center during the days we were there.

Lovely cabin

This property is perfect for a relaxing stay. The cabin is spotless, quiet, easy to find, and comfortable. It feels like you are miles away from everything but, in reality, it is only a short drive to restaurants and area attractions. I hope to return and stay longer.

We stayed one night the house is the best place we have stayed. We feel safe and secure our dog loves the yard. Kitchen is stocked well. House is clean and comfortable. We highly recommend!

blue ridge parkway stay

There was a reservation glitch & we were moved to a similar location, which turned out alright. The owner was on site and very apologetic, even offering us an extra night (which we were unable to stay for). It's a very nice setting and our stay was comfortable. We would consider staying there again & maybe bringing another couple along to stay in the sister space.

The pond was down the hill - full of Bass fish we caught 10-15 within an hour of casting - comfortable bed - private - beautiful scenery - deer almost at the front door - easy TV controls- 8 minutes from town- restaurants etc... we plan on coming back again next year and staying longer - we loved it, Great Anniversary trip !!! Thank you to the owners for a perfect weekend

Great property for chilling. Quiet, peaceful…easy to find and not too far from grocery, restaurants, and adventure. Very clean and comfortable. We would have loved to stay longer but our vacation itinerary didn’t allow. Hope to return in the future.

Great place

My wife and I just love this place , we have stayed here several times already and will continue to come back between our trips to New York and Florida . The house is always clean and comfortable the host are the best . We got hit with a snow storm on our stay and they called us and told us we were welcome to stay the extra night for free so we didn’t have to travel in the snow . Thank you so much . Highly recommend.
