By Japanese standards, the stay was far from ideal. From absolute silence until the day and time of check in the email instructions came exactly at 3:01pm (check in is from 3pm). The email was also all in Japanese and we were told to Google translate ourselves.
The apartment was small and cosy though a tad cramped, which was generally fine but it was not cleaned thoroughly too - there was an orange ear plug found left by the previous guest by the bed side.
This is the only terrible experience I have had for so many years of traveling. The bathroom is leaking badly like fountain, the bath tub has the similar size as the one for dogs in North America. It takes 5 steps from entrance to bedding area and no railing in the outside: for me this is a safely issue for any steps higher than 2 feet without railing. When I reported the leaking issue the night I checked in, the manager said they would not be able to fix it at the time, will be the next day, but did not think to assign another room for us. The worst of all, there is noise from rooms above constantly. Looks to me, it is construction defect, no sound insulation between roofs, therefore, even slightly walking will make big noise down stairs
