Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Friens?
The best time to go to Friens is during the late spring (May and June) and early autumn (September), when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

During May and June, the countryside around Friens is in full bloom, making it ideal for cycling and walking along the canals and through the fields. The temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 20°C, and there's a good amount of sunshine. This period is great for couples looking for scenic outdoor activities and a relaxed pace.

September offers similar mild temperatures, often between 14°C and 18°C, and the summer holidaymakers have departed, leading to a more peaceful experience. The landscape takes on beautiful autumnal colours, which is lovely for photography and exploring the Frisian lakes. It's a great time for solo travellers who appreciate tranquility and want to experience the local culture without the peak season bustle.

While July and August are also popular due to warmer weather, they can be busier with more visitors.
