We've spent a good deal of time in Friendship, ME, but staying at this house right in the midst of the lobster piers was a wonderful experience for us. The house is beautifully outfitted, has very comfortable beds, and is filled with interesting art. We all enjoyed the experience.
It was a peaceful comfortable home with a fabulous location. We were 2 couples so we had lots of choices as to bedrooms. The kitchen on the 2nd floor was lovely and very functional as was the dining area and living room overlooking a grand view of the ocean, islands and waterfront working world. It doesn't get much better anywhere on the coast of Maine.

The House That Time Forgot
The view was stunning, definitely 5-star. However, the house felt more like a motel, reminiscent of an old aunt's house (you know the one... no one wants to go to). We arrived to find dirty dishes in the sink and dishwasher, only to discover the dishwasher was broken. The owner suggested I rinse and retry—not something I wanted to do with previous guests' dishes. No one came to fix it. We also found jars on the floor, which turned out to be catching leaks from the ceiling pipes. There was beer left in the fridge, and the pillows were uncomfortable, like cheap Walmart specials. The mattresses were equally uncomfortable. The kitchen was full of mismatched, old dishes, and we even found personal clothing, including underwear, left in one of the bedrooms.
The worst part was check-in. We arrived late (9:00 PM) due to a delayed flight and struggled to find the house. After messaging the owner, we finally located it, but the lock wouldn’t work. We tried contacting the owner and VRBO, but no luck. After several frustrating hours, we got in, only to be woken at 6 AM by the owner, who accused us of being rude. Overall, the view was amazing, but the experience was disappointing. Significant improvements are needed before I would recommend this place.
We've been going to NH together for a few years and this time decided to go to Maine. The house was perfect. Plenty of space for our large crowd. Communication with Dan was awesome. Quick replies to everything, before and during. The garage was used to store the bikes overnight which was wonderful. Enough space to not be on top of each other. Able to cook and relax and enjoy an awesome view from every where.Would highly recommend to anyone.
