Lodge Farm, Freston, Suffolk

9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (3)
"We occupied as a family, all three cottages. The Dairy is the star with the best sunset views. Some outstanding features balanced a few negative ones. Location, view, farm 5* along with owner's and housekeeper's responsiveness and tolerance. Well appointed and bedding fab but kitchen equipment in a bit of a mess and lacking. Games room tired and fake lawn outside the Buttery let the whole down a little, all fixable."

"I booked this for our family for a surprise for my husbands 60th. We had a long weekend and it was close by for us but what an amazing place. Thoroughly enjoyed by all we had a great time and would certainly go back - also had a private chef for one day which finished the weekend off"

The Parlour, Freston

8.0 out of 10, Very good, (1)

Location is very quiet even though it is on a working farm. Well placed for access to Suffolk and Essex. Would be really helpful to receive an inventory as lots of items I took with me were provided (hairdryers, tea towels) and the provision of eggs, bread and milk was wonderful - but I had taken them as I didn't...

"Beautiful views and an interesting conversion of old farm buildings. The play room with table tennis was great especially for children but the advertised snooker was very poor and no useful cues. We were lucky to have no one staying in the adjoining properties as this liberated more play space. The greatest surprise was having an open plan lavatory and bath in the master bed room. This would have been so easily walled off during the conversion rather than just a wooden shelf as partial barrier....
