Great Thanksgiving Week!
Thank you for a wonderful stay at On The Rocks for the Thanksgiving week. The view from the deck was amazing and we saw dolphins in the water almost every day! The lift is very helpful for heavy items and worked well. The rooms are all very comfortable as is the lounge and dining room. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need. We had a great time!

Amazing House!
We love the location! Away from the busy parts of the island. Home is beautiful inside and outside. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms clean and kitchen is amazing! Tons of space and plenty of pots/pans/utensils. Has everything you need! The views are gorgeous! We enjoyed the hot tub too! Huge plus! It’s the perfect getaway beach house. We even saw Dolphins one morning! Check in and out was seamless! We can’t wait to book another trip! Bring your beach towels and equipment, the beach is a short walk away (about 5 minutes) and not crowded! We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

We do an annual trip to Galveston and this was our second time to stay at "On The Rocks." The property is amazing and the views are breathtaking. The property is clean and the beds are cozy. Paul is super responsive and so easy to work with. We are already looking forward to returning next year.

Fantastic stay at a beautiful beach home. Kitchen was amazing with its spectacular view of the gulf. Constant gulf breeze blowing and a short walk to the beach. While relaxing on the deck we saw a pod of dolphins. It was awesome. Did not want to leave. Memories made.

Great house and excellent location
This property was exactly as advertised. The house was gorgeous. The views from the 2 decks were amazing. You can sit outside and hear the waves crashing on the rocks and then walk just a couple blocks to swim and play on the beach. Our group included children age 4 to 17, young adults, parents and grandparents. No complaints from anyone.

We had a wonderful time . Very nice beach house. Paul, our host was very prompt to answer our questions before the stay. While we were there, Deborah (property manager) was very helpful and came to make sure everything was ok. The crabbing experience was awesome. We definitely will stay there again.

Wonderful Stay
We so enjoyed this beautiful beach home right on the water. We had 13 of us celebrating our Grandpa’s 80th birthday. This home was perfect for our family. It is excellently decorated and very comfortable. We spent time at the beach. The men fished in front of the beach house. Hope to visit again in the future.

The location rt on water was awesome. We spent a lot of time on the decks enjoying the view. The house was amazing. We ate alot of meals in and the kitchen was very well equipped. We enjoyed the record player and all the classic albums. Paul was great to work with. The beaches are much nicer than in Galveston. This is a house we plan on coming back to.

We celebrated our grandmas 80th birthday. It was a beautiful house- just as advertised. House location was perfect for us. It accommodated our large family perfectly. The house could’ve been cleaned better- baseboards and light fixtures have not been wiped down in a while. We did have to tape the outside door handles as the finish had come off and I cut my finger. There was no hot water in 2 of the downstairs showers. It would have been nice if there were additional extra blankets, as the weather was chilly. Overall, a great house and a great stay.

I appreciate the review. I will readdress the base boards and lights. It's the beginning of the rental season, and the has sat for a couple months, we may not bush up as well as we should. I'll have it done today. As for the door handles, we replace them regularly as being so close to the water we get a lot of salt spray that rust out the finish. It's great to be front row but has a price on metal. I'll replace them. Thanks you for staying with us, we appreciate your business.

We always rent a house in this area. This house is by far my favorite, love the view and house. The lift was great for the luggage and groceries. The fenced area for the dogs was helpful. Very relaxing. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Christmas in Galveston
We had a wonderful stay over the 2022 Christmas holiday. The first couple of days the city had shut down the water to the island, but the Owner was very up front on the issue which was beyond his control. He even offered a full refund. My family and I decided to rough it out, which is hardly roughing since the home is absolutely beautiful. The Owner’s communication was above par and the water was back on Christmas morning. The Owner even had a small step built for my brother in law who has exterme difficulty walking. If we make our way back to the Galveston area again, we will absolutely rent again. We had a great time and wonderful memories.

Great space. Wonderful response from the property owner! He was very accommodating. Worked well for 15 people. Walking distance from the beach! Fun fishing out front. The kitchen had everything. Beautiful views. We saw tons of dolphin and pelicans!

Relaxing getaway by the sea
We had a wonderful time at the beach house. The view is incredible; the waves were much more active than we expected to see. We could see pelicans, dolphins, people fishing, paragliding and even surfing. There is a beautiful view of the night sky. We were never up to see the sunrise, which would have been a spectacular sight, but the sunset was visible from the side deck. When the door is shut it is silent, but when open you can hear the waves crashing on the rocks. The whole house is beautiful with plenty of room for everyone. The kids loved staying in the bunk room. The hot tub is great for relaxing while watching the waves come in. Short walk to the sandy beach or the fishing cove down at the end of the street. Whenever we contacted our host, Paul, he was quick to reply. When we had concerns about an issue; Debbie the property manager was quick to show up and addressed our issue. The elevator isn't working so unpacking and packing took some extra effort climbing the stairs.

It was a beautiful property and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. There was a large kitchen island which is a must. We did Walmart grocery pickup in Lake Jackson which was only 25ish miles away (and we had a HUGE order waiting on us. ). If you are renting a beach house make sure you are water front!! This was perfect.

Most of us loved our home away from home....but we did have an eight month pregnant woman on our hands...the life was not operatable and we were told that it would be...so that was a bit of a concern....but overall you can't beat the place nor your host

I appreciate your review and feel your pain on the lift. The lift was washed out and bent during a recent storm, I had to pay over $14,000 for a replacement lift to be ordered and installed. Due to supply problems, we’ve been waiting months. We are anxiously waiting our lift getting installed. Current timeline, which I know doesn’t help you, but will be installed on or about July 28th. I can’t wait as well. It really makes the house much more accessible and honestly more fun since you don’t lose your breath just bringing in groceries. I promise we are working as hard as we can to get it installed. In normal times it takes 2-3 weeks to get a lift now, it’s months. Thanks for staying with us, I'm glad you loved everything else. Great location and beautiful house!
We had 16 adults and children and all slept very comfortably. The house is beautiful and so cozy. Being right on the water was so relaxing. Very short walk to beach area which was not crowded at all but we stayed Tuesday - Friday. Manager very responsive. We did not use the cargo lift (elevator) b/c it was locked and didn't ask if we could so if you need it make sure to ask if it is available before going.

Lift is broken. Also not an elevator as described but nothing that would keep us from returning.
This is a lovely house in an absolutely amazing location. The only thing that I would change is to have a working luggage/grocery lift. Paul was very responsive to the one small issue we had. Overall we had a fantastic time and would definitely choose this house when coming to this area, Loved it!

No hot water for 2 days
We checked in Sunday evening an did not get hot water til 6pm Tuesday. There maintenance people not very good. They finally just bought new hot water heater. The luggage elevator is totally broke. The stove is about to go out as the elements do not work right so just heads up. Host is nice but no hot water for more than half of stay was not happy about.

I'm very sorry, for the Hot Water heater, yes, we sent out a plumber, but the part needed was not readily available. It was a $25 sensor, but since we could get one shipped in, I bought a new heater and replaced the older one. As for the Stove which I think you mean grill, it's less than a year old, but being so close the gulf it looks rough, I replaced it with a new one as well. The stove is fully functional and is a smart stove. Burners do not constantly light up while cooking. If unfamiliar with newer appliances, might be a bit confusing. The lift, which was recently washed out by a storm, is being replaced. That takes a little more time but should be in by mid-July. We try our best to make sure every vacation is special and exceeds your expectations. I appreciate your input and hope we can improve further. Thanks

Spring Break getaway
This is a BEAUTIFUL home with wonderful views. The neighborhood was peaceful and great for walking. Easy walking access to the beach, we took a wagon to haul our gear. All the stairs were tough for our older family members so keep that in mind if you have grandparents with you. Otherwise we enjoyed everything this house had to offer. Spent many hours visiting and laughing on the decks while watching for dolphins. We have stayed north in Galveston and south in Surfside this is our new favorite spot on the Texas coast! Thank you for sharing your home with us. We felt so lucky to stay in such a lovely home.

First Family Reunion
We arrived on Friday night to a full moon shining across the beautiful waves hitting the rocks. We knew we were going to have a wonderful weekend. Family members came and went and the overall consensus was we were at a fabulous location. Sleeping was great, bathrooms were amazing, kitchen was very family friendly, and common areas both inside and outside were great. We loved the occasion and the comfort of “On the Rocks.”

This is a wonderful property that allows you to completely relax. The sound of the waves hitting the rocks is the best. The property is sticked with everything you need. Paul is awesome, accommodating, and very responsive if you have a question. We traveled with pets and it was great to let them play in the yard.

Perfect view inside and out
When you arrive at On the Rocks, everything you see is beautiful. Of course we like the ocean views most of all, but there is not a design element missing or color out of place throughout the home. There are two large walk-in showers, one in each master, nice solid wood doors, beautiful stone and tile choices, the list goes on. I do think there is some room for improvement on the check-in process (there is a physical key-no code, and you'll have to find the wifi code for yourself on the modem upstairs) the house overall is oozing with beauty and quality. I think it would be nice if Paul could provide a booklet with wifi info, restaurant and seafood recommendations, where to take the trash, and checkout info, so it's all on a quick reference guide for guests. We had a few hiccups like needing to find the key to lock the lift gate, and having a shower drain needing maintenance, but we all had a wonderful trip. Paul was responsive to everything we needed. By the way, you can watch dolphins every day from the deck!! One more note: we were planning on bringing an elderly friend of the family because the listing said there was an elevator...Thankfully she was not able to come at the last minute, because there is in fact no elevator, it is an outdoor lift for luggage and groceries.

We had a great time at this property! House is gorgeous, beautifully decorated, so many amenities that made our trip perfect. We sat outside every morning and night and listened to the waves hit the rocks and with an amazing beach just steps away to spend a relaxing day was amazing.
