Long leaf pine floors ,with 11+Ft ceilings.Furnished in a relax Hill Country Style with leather seating , cowhide rug ,and other vintage pieces with a timeless feminine touch. Two covered porches with plenty of seating to enjoy a morning coffee or evening wine.
Whole-house backup generator ensures continued comfort in the event of power outage.

Awesome communication with the host. Loved that kitchen drawers were labeled. Also every single light/fan switch was labeled was so super helpful. We all loved the farmhouse look and feel of the house. Super clean and well maintained home.

The reviews are real—this place is amazing! It’s beautiful inside and out. The location was perfect, close to town, and we all felt very safe. The home decor is incredible; we were inspired by the creativity throughout. With high ceilings and everything on one level, the space felt open and welcoming.We experienced such great energy in the house, which isn’t always the case with older homes—nothing creepy at all, just a wonderful vibe. It was the perfect weekend getaway for the four of us ladies, with plenty of space to sit, chat and buzz around in the kitchen. I can’t wait to book it again!

Perfect Place for Ladies Weekend

This s house is a great space. Not only clean and nicely decorated but with rich family history. Enough space to spread out with nice sitting areas to catch up on life and make new memories.

It’s bigger than it looks!

Great little house! Bigger than it looks. Host has thoughtfully included all of the amenities you’d need and some really interesting story elements about her family. Easy walk to Main Street which we did both nights. We would definitely book again.

Perfect in every way

The cottage was absolutely perfect for our needs of a cousin/aunts weekend for girls. We loved that there were so many beds for sleeping arrangements. The quiet neighborhood was close to Main St and yet just far enough away to see deer at night and to enjoy a nice fire in the backyard. What at great host too!

Charming Cottage

This cottage is well maintained, clean and comfortable with plenty of Fredericksburg charm. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well appointed. We enjoyed sitting on both the front and back porches. Would recommend!

Awesome mother/daughter trip

We have been coming to Fredericksburg for a mother-daughter trip for several years. We all agreed your house was our favorite. We each had our own room, and there was plenty of space to spread out. We really enjoyed the back porch. We sat out there and had snacks in evening and had breakfast there in the morning. The neighborhood was so cute and very quiet. We will definitely stay there again.

Wonderful Visit in Fredericksburg

We so enjoyed our stay in Fredericksburg and at Elsa’s Gatehaus! The property is beautiful and was very comfortable. We especially loved the front and back porches - spending time with our family drinking coffee, talking and laughing! The owner does an awesome job of providing everything you need for an enjoyable visit and her communication was awesome! We hope to return!

Great place!

The house is well furnished, inside and out. Porches in front and back are excellent for visiting. Plenty of sleeping and seating spaces inside. Kitchen and bath are well stocked. Everything was very clean. It is obvious that the owners put a lot of thought into making us feel welcome!
