Southern Serenity is meant for couples like you. Every piece of furniture, other than the king-size bed covered with luxurious designer linens, which both of you share, has a twin copy of itself for your better or equal half. This vacation home also has stunning outdoors with a swimming pool & hot tub. Located just two to three blocks from Main Street Shopping, this Downtown Retreat vacation home is an exciting find.

- Quiet Time is from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am, per City Ordinance
- If we are called due to complaints violating Quiet Time:
1st Offense will result in a $250 fine.
2nd Offense will result in a $500 fine.
If police are called, you are responsible for any fines or fees issued with the citation or warning. If police are called there will be a $500 fine, even if no citation is issued.

Love this vacation home. Always such a clean property and easy to find. It’s not too far from Main Street but far enough to have some R&R without the loudness of vehicles and people. Would definitely book again.

Nice place but AC was bad

The location and area is amazing. I would only stay there again if they fix their AC unit. The room was hot and no matter what temp we put, it would cool down only to an extent as if they were trying to save money on energy.

Easy process from booking to checking out. Very nice room and comfy bed! Enjoyed the hot tub but only briefly because it was quite hot. Nice to enjoy the weather out by the pool! We had a lovely time shopping and eating in Fredericksburg. Next time we'll do the wineries! Thank you, I will highly recommend to others!

We loved the location and the room was nice. The place was quiet. Two problems: we needed instructions on how to access tv channels. All we could see was the Austin station. Second, we are old folks and there were a LOT of different levels/steps in the bathroom! We had to leave a light on all night to be sure we didn't trip over the steps during the night. We will stay here again, though. It was very nice.

In town for a wedding

Very nice place in a cute town. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. We did have trouble with my 84 year old mother-in-law using the bathroom. She had her own room and we didn't realize the design of the bathroom before booking. There is a large step to get into the bathroom that was difficult for her. We had trouble getting the key fob out of the box but had an immediate response when we called for help. We just couldn't figure it out. The pool was nice but a little to cold for us but we were there in late October. We enjoyed our stay and it was very nice and if we are in the area again will stay there.

Great Location

The room is good. I would just say that the step up and down for the bathroom/shower is a problem for older people. Also, it would be very helpful to have a rack or holder for toilet paper rather than stacking on back of toilet. It would seem very easy to have at least one towel rack on the wall near the shower/tub. In the closet it would be easy and nice to have a shelf or suitcase rack so there is some place to put your clothes. All that being said as simply suggestions. WE really love the place and location. Last suggestion, the bed base under the box springs sticks out beyond the springs/mattress and had us bumping our legs/shins repeatedly.

Great Place to Stay

This was the perfect place for us! It was two blocks off of main street and very quiet - which we loved. We walked to town everyday for shopping, meals, breweries, church and even a handcraft market that was going on the weekend we were there. The place itself was very comfortable, super clean and had everything we needed from plenty of towels, shampoo, soap, a larger refrigerator, microwave, paper towels as well as plates and silverware. None of the pictures show a closet which I was a bit concerned about as we were there for a wedding and needed a place to hang our dress clothes, but there was one!! Two very small drawbacks (not deal breakers) were that the air conditioning unit was super loud and there is a small step up to the bathroom and a large step up in the bathroom to the toilet/shower. You just have to remember when you get up in the middle of the night. The management company sent our code to get in a little early which was great and checkout was super simple. My husband even commented that it was a great place and if we ever return this would be the place to stay. I would definitely recommend the Downtown Retreat!

We stayed 5 nights, the room was clean and comfortable. The pool was great as it was very hot outside during our stay. But we did have a bad experience in the room, On Tuesday evening we found a very large, very disgusting black bug on the countertop by the tv and got it killed. On Friday evening while watching tv we saw another big black bug on the ceiling and swatted it to the floor and killed it by the refrigerator. Later the same night we saw another big black bug go under the bed. We tried to locate with a flashlight but had no luck until it crawled on top the covers then on top the headboard before we swatted it to the floor and killed it there. We were very upset and glad to leave the room the next morning. Also the kitchen sink leaked in the cabinet below. You really need to address these issues, especially the bugs.
