Great hotel for the money, slightly further from the highways than the Marriott compound in town but worth the drive for the value. The rooms are very large, with a full kitchen including a cooktop. Our King room had a recliner as well. The bed was firm; the water pressure was great; the floors were clean hard surfaces so no mystery stains! On the other hand, the pool was out of order.

I am working in Frederick for the next few months and am loving my stay at Candlewood! My suite is nice, comfortable, and perfect for my needs! I have had ZERO issues. As a female staying alone, I feel 100% safe here. The staff are all extremely friendly, welcoming, professional and very accommodating. So far the other guests I have encountered have been kind and quiet. The hotel is in the process of being updated, but if you didn't know work was being done, you'd have no idea. There have been no inconveniences or disturbances from the work going on. This hotel and the people there make having to work far away from home much more tolerable.

Nice little hotel

We only stayed for the night, but the room had a full size fridge, and a little kitchen area, you could easily stay for a week. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Hotel is very close to shops, restaurants and very nicely centered in the middle. Breakfast was basic, but good. The pool is clean, but the pool area is very old and messy. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet.

May be better once construction is done

The hotel is under construction so I was awakened by the contractor installing a heating/ cooling unit outside my room and he was working in the wall connected to my room. I had to use the bathroom in the lobby because my toilet didn’t work and there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I think once construction is done it will be wonderful but right now it is not.

It's a nice hotel, my only issue is the ac/heater in the rooms could use some maintenance, they were noisy in more than two different rooms. Makes it hard to get a good night's sleep with a whirling fan motor making noise in your room.

PHONES AND TV DID NOT WORK. HAD TO RUN UP AND DOWN TO DESK. DESK PERSON TRIED TO HELP NEVER GOT TV WORKING. ROOM WAS RUNDOWN AND DIRTY GLAD IT WAS JUST ONE NIGHT. BATHROOM WAS DIRTY NOT SURE IT HAD BEEN CLEANED. OUTSIDE OF BUILDING LOOKED MUCH BETTER THAN INSIDE. WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN. VERY DISAPPOINTING. STAFF AT MAINSTAY DID WHAT THEY COULD. HAD TO STAY IN THAT ROOM BECAUSE NO OTHER ROOM WERE AVAILABLE . TV WAS NEVER FIXED. ROOM ABOVE US WAS VERY VERY LOUD . STAFF WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY TOOK CARE OF IT.
