Peaceful Cabin Overlooking the Bogue Chitto River

Peaceful, secluded cabin right on the Bogue Chitto River. A private beach sand bar on the river is just a walk away. The views from the huge porch overlooking the river and all the nature it has to offer are second to none. It is a wonderful place with modern amenities tucked away in peaceful seclusion near the Bogue Chitto River.

I must add a disclaimer: being so close to the river can present logistical difficulties. When the river floods, the cabin is inaccessible. Thankfully, this only happens a few times per year. But in the event that the river rises to unacceptable levels during a booking, guests will receive a full refund for any unused time, as holding anyone accountable for the actions of nature doesn't seem fair to me.

NO DIVING! It is not safe to dive from bluff nor the boat ramp area. Please keep supervision of all young adults, children and house pets.

Respect the water. Rivers are unpredictable and can have swift currents. Undertow can occur as well. Please watch for boaters in the area.

Please bag ALL trash and place in the trash cans on the porch area on or before the day of your departure. Please clean out any access food.

The cabin was very rural but easy to find once given the directions. It was on beautiful land and the cabin itself was gorgeous. It was nicely stocked with kitchen wear, seasonings, cosmetics for the bathroom, etc. very clean and cozy with lovely views of the Bogue Chitto.

Great Cabin!

We loved our time at the cabin. The weather was perfect and the kids had a great time down by the beach digging and collecting rocks. They also loved the hammock! The yard was huge so we were able to play a lot of Bocce.

Great spot for our annual boys trip. Was able to watch football, grill, and swim in the river. Great secluded location and the owner was very helpful. Bathrooms were incredible. Would definitely go back.

This place was amazing! The owners were very accommodating after our 22 hour drive. We were able to get in early so we didn't have to putz around town with the dogs. It was so quiet and calming after the drive. We really appreciated it all.

From the moment we arrived, I was impressed by the cleanliness, comfort, and attention to detail throughout the property. It is a spacious cabin with all of the amenities of a home. It is located on the water for easy access to swimming or kayaking. The property is large and near a private beach access. It is a very relaxing home away from home! Communication with the owner and host was superb. I definitely recommend this property.

Best VRBO I’ve ever been to

Our stay at this cabin was one my family and I will remember for a lifetime. The cabin was very nice and secluded which made for the most peaceful relaxing weekend. A short walk to a huge sandbar plus a gorgeous day at the river. My nephews caught fish from the back yard and we had a fire on the beach. my family and I Will be back for sure!

Awesome family friendly cabin!!

My family and I celebrated 4th of July here in this beautiful cabin. It is secluded and has a beautiful river view! It has all the amenities you need. There is plenty of dishes so you don’t have to pack a lot. Two refrigerators for food. Dollar General is 3 miles away. Easy to operate luggage elevator so you will not have to bring up and down steps. You can fish and swim on a nice clean sandbar. The owners are great at communicating. You will not regret the stay at this cabin. We highly recommend it and will stay again!! Geaux Tigers!!

our second stay - the perfect getaway!

We love staying here! It’s not common to have such a luxurious “camp” on the bogue chitto in this parish. It really is the perfect spot; privacy, easy access to the river with great spots to relax and enjoy nature. Owner and manager were both great, very helpful with easy communication. Super clean place! Loved that it had an extra fridge/freezer and a washer and dryer. Easy access and about 3 min from a store if you forget something. Oh and it has a basketball goal, bring a ball!

Short get away, close by and convenient

Everything was great! The house is absolutely accommodating and comfortable. We cannot wait to have another trip to this exact location. It will become a regular for us. A peaceful and wonderful weekend

Our weekend was so peaceful and relaxing . The camp is even more beautiful in person . It has such a welcoming feeling the minute you walk in the door . The woods and the river view was defiantly added beauty . A Peaceful Getaway!

Our stay was just what we needed! In the hustle and bustle of every day life, we sometimes forget about the beauty around us. This property helps you to remember that. You are surrounded by woods, water and wildlife. It was the most peaceful place we have stayed to date. The entire time we were there, we never heard any noise from neighbors and you are far enough out to not hear traffic. The house was absolutely perfect! It was very clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back again!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

We stayed here this past weekend for a short escape with our kids and two pups (who we usually have to leave at home). The cabin was immaculate and very nicely decorated. The kitchen had many amenities that made cooking so easy. The beds were incredibly comfy and so were the reclining sofas! Outdoors, we enjoyed several rounds of basketball, walking the doggies around the property and letting them explore and making S'mores at night! We also enjoying sitting out by the river listening to music and dipping our toes in the water! We're already planning our next visit! In addition, the communication with the hosts was outstanding. I contacted them several times about different little things and always received a friendly and timely reply. When we left, my husband forgot his watch and I contacted them right away. They went above & beyond to have the cleaning crew get it to them so they could get it back to us. Outstanding service!! 10/10
