Sea La Vie!

With an unbeatable location, a spacious, fenced backyard with an outdoor firepit, and accommodations for up to eight people, the Sea La Vie will have you saying “Oui!” to a Mendocino Coast adventure. This delightful home is perfect for families or groups of amis looking to unwind and enjoy nature in comfort and style, as well as for culture lovers looking for a thriving arts scene. Whether you’re planning a girls’ or guys’ trip, a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or another expedition, come let the dramatic natural beauty of the Mendocino Coast wash over you as you enjoy la vie en rose.
This luxurious vacation rental features 3 bedrooms with queen beds, two bathrooms, and a pullout couch, along with a living room, dining area, kitchen, and rec room -- and that’s just the inside! In the backyard, you’ll find a grill, an outdoor dining set for lunch in the sun and dinner under the stars, trees (and a tree swing), and the setup for a friendly game of horseshoes. In addition, the firepit is perfect for s’mores -- the best part of camping, but with all the comforts of home. In the shed, you’ll find all the makings of a great day at the beach: beach chairs, a picnic basket, and for the little ones, kids’ bikes and beach toys. At Sea La Vie, you’re walking distance to the famous Mackerricher boardwalk and beach.
Each day, you have your choice of destination, whether country expedition or art tour or promenade with visits to the fashionable boutiques of downtown (beret optional).
Of course, given the lavish comfort of Sea La Vie, if you decide to spend the whole trip at your seaside paradise, listening to the roaring crash of distant waves, we totally understand! That’s why the house features everything you need for the perfect vacation: charming common spaces, comfy couches and a rocking chair, a desk and other workspaces, two TVs (one in the living room and one in the largest bedroom), indoor and outdoor dining sets, ample closet space, washing machine and dryer, a full kitchen, a Victrola for music lovers, and lots more!
Dine al fresco on the back deck and let yourself be transported to a European sidewalk cafe. The grill and fully equipped kitchen will ensure that you have plenty of ways to make your favorite meals. If you decide to go out on the town, you’ll learn another of the coast’s delightful secrets: we have a fantastic and surprisingly global culinary scene. You have your pick, from sushi to Southeast Asian to Mexican to Italian to French and more. Follow your palate on a world tour — you can’t go wrong. Personally, we recommend starting with the local cuisine. Noyo Harbor boasts some of the best fresh seafood you’ll find, and the chefs here have perfected delectable dishes using top quality ingredients.
The kitchen has lots of cookware and bakeware, as well as a crock pot, four-burner stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and dishwasher. One bathroom features a bathtub, and both have showers, so you can wash the sand off after a long day by la mer.
You’ll have countless options to get out in nature. Come discover the hidden beauty of the coast, from the pristine beaches of Westport and Fort Bragg to the lush trails around Lake Cleone to natural wonders at our state parks, including the waterfall at Russian Gulch and the Pygmy Forest at Jug Handle. Active adventurers can take to the water, whether kayaking, surfing, or whale-watching or fishing with local tour operators. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace (or with small children) may opt for one of the paved coastal trails or a day on the Skunk Train. Be sure to allow plenty of time -- the breathtaking scenery here awes visitors and inspires artists.
It’s no coincidence that this scenic little town punches above its weight for art and culture. Mendocino is famous as an artists’ haven, and at local art galleries, you’ll find world-renowned artists’ works, along with budding Renoirs, Cezannes, and Rodins waiting to be discovered. If theater is your passion, check the playbills at Mendocino Theater Company or Gloriana Musical Theatre. Music? Just wander the town on First Friday (Fort Bragg) or Second Saturday (Mendocino), plus pretty much any day at many restaurants, or book your trip to coincide with the famed Mendocino Music Festival.
And while we may not have the Eiffel Tower, we have the towering redwoods, not to mention the sea stacks.
Because Sea La Vie, and here on the Mendocino Coast, life is pretty grand. We can’t wait for you to come “sea” for yourself!

The house was lovely, clean, and spacious for all of our guests. We love that it is so close to our favorite beaches. Everything kitchen tool and gadget was available for use. The smart tv let the family login and watch their race on the big tv instead of a phone screen. The huge backyard was perfect for the busy pre-teen.
We really enjoyed our recent stay at Sea La Vie for a long holiday weekend. The house is single-story, spacious and well-provisioned to make meals & hang out - plus, easy access to MacKerricher and Highway 1. We had a dog with us and found the backyard to be amazing space to hangout when we weren't out enjoying the sites. Highly recommend.
Family Holidaze reunion; great to have a place where we locals and afars could spend time together. Comfortable, two living rooms. Great walks in the park.
This house was perfect! We loved the two living rooms. It made it so much more comfortable to have separate spaces between noisy kids and adults trying to relax. The hot tub was a big hit too!
Really lovely home with nice large areas for relaxation and an amazing yard when weather is good. We appreciated that the kitchen was well-outfitted (we made waffles!) The location is quiet despite being on Highway 1 and is convenient to Ft. Bragg. Loved the proximity to the state park as well. Would love to return in the summer!
We are a busy family of 6 and often end up feeling rushed and divided through our week of school, work, activities, and church. This was the perfect spot to escape the normal and just be together. The house alone was sufficient for games and chilling. Even our dog loved the backyard. Fully fenced for him to run and play safely. Thank you for making this spot such a sweet place to be a family!
This immaculate, well-appointed house was a delight to stay in during our visit to the Fort Bragg/Mendocino area. Even before arriving, the communications with the owner were exceptionally thoughtful and helpful. The property itself is much prettier than the photos suggest, and everything worked smoothly from check-in to check-out. The location is so convenient for all the activities on the coast, and even just staying at home relaxing and enjoying the house and yard is a vacation in itself. Five stars plus for this rental. I would not hesitate to recommend it and look forward to returning in the near future.
Location was just right, not far away from restaurants and stores. The backyard was a big hit for kids and adults, the swing was perfect for kids and the hot tub was perfect for the adults. Comfy beds, personally some pillows were too high but i switched from another room. There was space heaters and it warmed up the house, the rooms had wall heaters a bit noisy but overall it did its job. The garage had games for the whole family. There was a lot of towels for the whole family. Overall cozy. Thank you.
Plenty of room and lots of fun games to keep our family entertained during down time after visiting local beaches. The house was very clean and had everything we needed.
The property was clean, the manager responded quickly to questions , I liked that it was very close to glass beach , down town and state park. Neighbors were quiet. Plenty of clean towels and blankets.
We had 6 adults and two small dogs, and stayed for a week. A couple of small issues, but the communication with the property manager was quick and easy. Great location for our dogs, and we had plenty of spaces for gathering, playing board games or watching tv. Sat out on the back deck every morning and did some watercolor painting while having our morning beverages. Easy walk to the beach every evening to watch the sun set, and took advantage of the recommended activities in the house binder. We had a great week here!
Our stay was excellent. The house was well stocked with the necessities. It’s an old house but has its own charm. The owner/property manager was very responsive and responded to our questions very quickly. I has a big backyard and a nice fire pit. It’s very conveniently located. We loved our stay. Thank you!
Our active family of four absolutely loved this great property. The seaside decor was one of the best I have ever seen - all rooms, all details coordinated and beautiful. Kitchen had REAL glasses/plates ( not just plastic) and was very well appointed. all of us loved the abundance of games in the game room, and the huge backyard. Super location as well - outside town but still easy to get to activities both in Ft Bragg and along Mendocino coast, Hosts also very easy to work with and responsive. Top notch!
Great location next to a state park, My daughter loved her morning run there. The house is roomy and clean. As a early morning riser, I enjoyed my coffee while catching the morning news, in the tv room, that was away from the bedrooms. The kitchen had all the pans and utensils I needed to make some of our meals. Our 2 dogs enjoyed the huge fenced back yard where they could run with wild abandon. The hot tub and fire pit looked inviting if we had time to utilize them.We had a fabulous time exploring the areas in Fort Bragg, and Mendocino. The Cleone Grocery store that is a 2 minute walk away, was well stocked for picking up needed items.
The house was charming, clean, and comfortable. Check-in and check-out were both very easy and straightforward, and being able to walk next door to the Cleone Market is a really nice convenience. Our only complaint was that we felt misled on the backyard. We often choose houses based on the yard so that our dog can have some fun off-leash time on vacation with us, and the fence was so short it was easily jumpable if he would have seen a deer or horse go by - which was not uncommon. It also felt very unkept and didn't look nearly as maintained as the photos represented.
The house itself is very cute and spacious. They really thought of everything for their guests. Our main issue with the house was that it smelled like dog when you entered. There was dog hair on pillows, carpet, and (most concerning) bedding. I’m allergic to dog hair and so I was battling allergies the entire time. Their shower also has mold on it. However, the kitchen, utensils, pots and pans and appliances was new.
