A lovely apartment in a wing of an old mansion, filled with antiques which gave it a very Scottish feel. There is a beautiful walled garden filled with deck chairs. The owners were very friendly and overall I had just the sort of holiday I intended - extremely relaxed! Plenty of castles, museums, lovely scenery, and ancient stones in this very old part of Scotland. I managed a walk at the edge of the Cairngorms and would recommend the art galleries in Dundee, Glamis and Craithes Castles and Dunnottar Castle on the Aberdeenshire coast.
