Fox Feathered Farm

We stayed here for two nights right after Thanksgiving . It was our first experience staying in a yurt. We really enjoyed staying here. It was clean, it had a comfy bed and it had all the glamping amenities that most people would need. There were also a lot of shuttle artistic touches that made the yurt feel like home. I would definitely recommend the blue bird yurt and the Fox Feathered Farm to anyone looking for a Yurt /Glamping experience.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Bird Yurt! The decor was adorable, the bed was super comfortable, and even with the cold weather, the split unit kept the yurt perfectly warm. The property is peaceful and serene, an excellent romantic getaway (we even got engaged on our trip!).The yurt was fully stocked with all the essentials, plates, bowls, cups, silverware, and even coffee and a nice coffee pot. We didn’t use the fire pit or grill, but plenty of wood, gas, and charcoal were provided.Our host, Paola, was amazing! very hospitable and quick to respond. When the shower water ran a little cooler in the cold weather, she immediately brought us a space heater for the bathroom, which helped a lot.There’s no TV, but we really enjoyed the quiet and just used a sound app at night to drown out any back ground noise. Overall, we’d give this stay 4.9 stars, only a tiny deduction for the cooler shower (but when staying in a glorified tent things like that are to be expected). Everything else was absolutely perfect. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you, Paola!

Perfect Yurt experience

We have always wanted to stay in a yurt and this was an amazing first yurt experience. The space is bright and welcoming. It’s so nicely done and super clean. Our 5 y/o loved staying in “the round house” and can’t wait to visit again.

First stay in a yurt!

We were shocked at the space in the yurt! Everything was well thought out and the decorations were gorgeous! My favorite was the chandelier over the table. We loved being able to bring our pup with us! We were able to relax and recharge and hope to return again in the future. The skylight is beautiful also but heats the yurt up in the middle of the day. That would be the reason I would want to return in the spring or fall. 😊

Peaceful and Serene

My wife and I, along with our two teen daughters, recently spent two nights at this fantastic property. Beautifully decorated and possibly the cleanest accommodations I've ever rented. This is "glamping" at its best. Much more spacious and well-equipped than hotel rooms at twice the price. Queen bed with additional futon, very nice linens for each. Bathroom towels and washcloths had us searching for similar items once we got home. Area is somewhat remote, but we had no issue with our cell service, which is through Verizon. Keep in mind that in the town of Rutherfordton, very few restaurants are open on Sunday, with many closed on Monday as well. We did find an excellent Mexican restaurant, Mi Pueblita, that was open on Sunday. Yurt has a large deck and nice fire pit area. Owner was prompt in answering all questions and gave us a tour of her property. Wonderful getaway for a couple or small family, around an hour from Asheville. Highly recommended.

Very quiet. Got some restful sleep. Close to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Nice country drive to some great wineries. Nice towns close by with interesting shops.

This yurt is so cute and cozy!! She has paid a lot of attention to the details. Very comfortable inside and out. If you have never stayed in a yurt this is the place to try it out! Close to lots of great hiking and the Chimney Rock / Lake Lure area.

Adorable Rental

We had a great stay in the Bluebird Yurt. Inside was so comfy, cozy and inviting. We got the breakfast basket and it was such a fun treat! Enjoyed daily campfires and canoeing on the property. And the location was great for visiting the Chimney Rock area. We would love to come back!

Glamping at its best!

So much charm and attention to detail in this yurt! Pictures does not do it justice. You have everything you need here including privacy. Great location to lake lure and surrounding trails, including small stores for needed essentials and firewood. This was our fist time in a yurt and we loved it from beginning to end. The breakfast baskets are a great idea! Thank you, Paola, for a wonderful place that is also pet friendly!!

Charming Getaway in the Mountains

"Charming" truly describes what this property is. You don't really get a feel for it until you enter through the front door and take in the size and details of the yurt. It's nestled in the woods on a farm, trailed by a gravel road. The size of the yurt is great for a couple w/dog, and it has all the creature comforts you need for a nice getaway. It's very quiet at night and it provides a great opportunity to disconnect from the world. I would definitely stay here again! :)

We had such a lovely stay at the Bluebird Yurt this weekend. The yurt itself is decorated with such care; I enjoyed just looking around the room at all the small, but thoughtful touches throughout. It did not feel small at all - and my husband is 6ft4. The bed is also super comfy and the pillows were lovely! The breakfast basket is a must! So delicious. The grounds and farm are pretty - I loved sitting by the pond in the evening. Proximity to hiking and good restaurants was also excellent. My only regret are that we couldn't stay longer. Also, of random but important note...thank you, thank you, thank you, for having a drip coffee maker AND a coffee pod option w/recyclable coffee pod cups! I cringe every time i go to a vacation rental with only a coffee pod option b/c a) i find the coffee to be subpar and b) it's environmentally un-friendly. So, I now travel w/my own coffee and french press. But at the Bluebird was able to pop my grinds into the drip coffee maker - perfection. I hope we can come back soon!

Perfect Get Away

This very cute yurt was the perfect get away for my husband and I. It was clean, so well decorated, and easy to get to. We checked in with no problem, enjoyed fishing in the pond - catch & release - and had a chance to relax & unwind. The yurt was comfortable and cozy. The Breakfast basket was so delicious! We had a most enjoyable stay! Would love to come back again in the fall or next spring.

Bluebird Paradise

As I wrote earlier today in the guest comment book, this yurt, which is cottage-like in its amenities and ambience, reflects the care and aesthetic sensibilities that the owner put into building this space. The original paintings hung on the latticed walls, the rope-covered wires leading to light fixtures, color scheme, gorgeous decoupaged counter top, dozens of other subtle touches, all evoke a sense of being in an aviary. The remote location and stillness of the farm environment afford a sense of escape and peace, so welcome after pandemic restrictions. All the essentials are provided, and once you’ve crossed the threshold, it’s easy to relax and settle into a comfortable state. The only negative, and it’s a minor one, is the weak water pressure from the property’s well (there’s two sinks and a shower), but there’s ample hot water. As for other infrastructure, the air conditioner is efficient, the deck and grill are bonuses, and the skylight is a perfect structural centerpiece. The mini fridge is nice but noisy, the coffeemaker is versatile, and the electrical outlets are abundant. If you are looking for a getaway from whatever, seeking isolation, but still want a comfortable bed and a few essential comforts, this is a place to consider in the Blue Ridge region. Take care on the gravel road in, as the hump in the middle of rutted tire lanes, though easily traversible, could scrape the bottom of your vehicle. And if it’s rainy, as it was throughout our weekend stay, you’ll have to deal with muddy pathways leading to the steps to this extraordinary yurt.

Nothing short of fantastic!

Paolo did an amazing job providing everything our family needed for am extremely enjoyable weekend getaway. Very close to all the great hiking and activity spots in Western NC. The yurt was impeccably decorated, with amazing one of a kind artistic touches all over the place. Bed was very comfortable, and all necessary amenities were there. Definitely get the breakfast basket(s)... Well worth it... Farm fresh food that was a great treat! Very quiet spot on Paolo's working farm, with a fishing pond 2 minutes from the door! Would absolutely recommend... Thank you Paolo!
