"I spent nearly 40 years writing about travel, so I know a thing or two about hotels. Filanthi is a special place in every way. Yes, the sea is right outside and there’s a great restaurant below, but it’s far more than that. This building has been in the same family for many generations (see story in photo) and is now run by a young woman named Eugenia, who has done a flawless job of preserving the charm of her great-grandfather’s home while blending it with artistic, modern touches, for example, the way the beautiful bathroom tiles conjure hillsides of olive, citrus, and sage. She has also introduced comfort elements not typical of Greek hotels. The bed was exceptionally comfortable—nothing like the traditional board-like fare—and the shower was the best I experienced in four weeks of traveling through the Peloponnese. Every detail is unique and thoughtfully chosen; she should be proud of the years of work that went into creating such a space. There was a complimentary bottle of local wine in the room that I didn’t try, and though I never ordered one, my sea-view double came with a balcony cat who was charming and excellent company. My only suggestion: I hope she soon drops “The Project” from the name. In my experience, the hotel is already complete—elegant, well-finished, and deeply memorable."

"We can’t thank the owners enough. Panagiotis and his beautiful wife were lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The room was immaculate and beautifully appointed, blending modern luxury with cozy comfort. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the linens crisp and clean, and the view from our window and balcony was simply stunning. Housekeeping was prompt, discreet, and consistent throughout our stay. What truly set this hotel apart was the level of service. They remembered our name, our preferences, and were always one step ahead with thoughtful suggestions and assistance. The hotel’s amenities were top-notch serene, spotless, and offered us a place to unwind. Breakfast in the mornings was impressive, with plenty of local farm to table options and exceptional organic quality. Our taste buds we in heaven daily. Location-wise, the hotel couldn’t be better situated — close enough to the town of Finikounda, restaurants and several beaches but tucked away just enough to feel peaceful and exclusive. In every aspect, this stay exceeded our expectations and can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. We’ll absolutely be returning — it’s rare to find a place that gets everything right. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Finikounda area, this is it. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!"

"Wonderful property, peaceful, with tranquil, St Andreas beach. Nice restaurants in the area, shirt walk away. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage across the street from the beach. If you’re looking for a quiet setting with pristine beach, small town Greek charm, and friendly locals, this is the place for you. Short drive to historical castle in town of Koroni as well as other very nice beaches. "

"Property is excellent. It’s a bit of a trek if you take a car from Athens. I recommend taking a helicopter as it lands right at the property basically. Surrounding area is beautiful , great golf as well. "

"Rooms are fairly basic but with lots of space and great air conditioning. Loved dinner at the restaurant. Fab hotel beach and pool and perfect location to walk to local restaurants and shops on the water. Whole family loved our stay here!"
