The Osprey Cabin is a legendary Montana house on 10 acres with frontage on the famous Bitterroot River. It is a spacious 3 bedroom, 3 bath house with 3 queen beds and 2 twin beds. The Osprey Cabin sits right in the middle of all the activities available in the Bitterroot Valley. Missoula has wonderful restaurants, great shopping and is famous for its many breweries. The small town of Stevensville, only 10 minutes away, has a fantastic main street that has many shops, cafes and restaurants. The famous Creamery Antique store is in Stevensville. A little further south is the popular town of Hamilton. Known for its small town heritage, it is a favorite destination for locals and travelers.

Other Activities
The Osprey Cabin is also in close proximity to many outdoor activities. Cycling and hiking in the vast natural preserves are local favorites. There are stables offering horseback riding on hundreds of trails. Snowmobiling is available about 30 minutes away, as well as a hot springs resort. Snow skiers have 2 resorts within 1 ½ hours. The great Montana outdoors offer a wealth of memories, and of course, you are right in the middle of the best trout fishing in America.

Wonderful home on the Bitterroot River! We loved walking out of the back of the house and going straight to the river for fishing. The kids spent days exploring, swimming, fishing, and investigating. Very quiet neighborhood. House has everything you need, beautiful landscaping, and a great back deck. Highly recommend for a relaxing vacation!

Beautiful River Retreat

We had a wonderful time at the Osprey Cabin. The river view was lovely and we were able to fish and relax by the fire in the evenings. The cabin fit our party of 5 quite well. The beds were comfy and it was nice to have separate bathrooms. Our pups had a great time and even though the yard isn’t fenced, it felt secluded. We would definitely stay again and hope to do so in the future!

Quiet and Peaceful

We had a wonderful stay. The house was clean and had everything we needed. This included plenty of split firewood for the fireplace. We needed this as temperatures were in the -20’s at times. Gorgeous view of the river and the 3 Bald Eagles that visited.

Absolutely Incredible!

The pictures don't do this amazing cabin justice! We were able to comfortably have 7 adults, 1 toddler and 3 dogs (2 small, 1 medium) for 3 days and had zero issues. We had everything we needed for a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. The fishing is FANTASTIC and we spent a lot of time doing just that. We loved all the wildlife we saw - even a big 4 point buck right outside the kitchen window one morning! I can't say enough good things about the place. So thankful our family got to spend time together in such a wonderful place. Looking forward to our next stay!

An Autumn Getaway

Our Autumn Family gathering at Osprey Cabin made us very happy. Gramma and Granddaughter didn't want to leave! This is a well appointed home, comfortable and quiet. The stars are abundant and the river beautiful and serene. We had a great view of the eclipse, watched the osprey and heron fishing, as well as a river otter in the evening. There are many locations nearby to put in and float the river. We loved that too!! Thanks for for sharing this little slice of heaven.

Wish the serenity could be bottled

Our stay at Osprey cabin was peaceful and relaxing; being right across the river from a wildlife refuge simply added to the peacefulness. My brother, who did all the cooking, appreciated the grill. I have to be careful of sun exposure so I appreciated the covered porch. The sound of the river was calming. The cabin was incredibly clean and the grounds very well-kept. Jim and Teri were very responsive every time I reached out. I’d love to stay here again some day.

Absolutely Beautiful

This place was above & beyond our expectations!! Great communication from Jim & Terri and they were so accommodating. The mosquitoes were a bit annoying but that’s life on a river and they eventually went to bed when the sun went down-lol…our teenage boys were in heaven fishing from the banks of the river. Our hearts & prayers go out to the young woman who went missing on her kayak while we were there-it was heartbreaking to watch the search & rescue team’s & helicopters searching for her out front, definitely a reminder of how dangerous & swift the river can be in July. Overall, a stay we won’t forget and a place we would love to visit again.

Little piece of Paradise!

It’s really hard to sum up in words how wonderful the stay, and the property was, but will do my best. The house was nicely laid out. Having 3 bedrooms with each having a full bathroom was great, especially with multiple teenagers. The kitchen was spacious, and had everything we needed, cookware, plates, utensils, etc. for preparing and eating meals. Outside was the biggest enjoyment! Nice spacious deck, with grill, and the two fire pits were great for sitting around and chatting with the fire taking away the nighttime chill. Sitting out by the river in the morning with a cup of coffee, the fog along the River and the sunrise “forced” me to indulge in lots of picture taking. It’s a perfect spot for fishing as well. We casted a few lines, but in the end it was all about relaxing and enjoying our family time together! I highly recommended! It was truly a little piece of Paradise!

This was one of the best VRBO properties we have stayed in. It was extreemly clean and comfortable. Hosts provided extras like laundry detergent, hand soap, shampoo, sponges, bug spray, paper towels, and toilet paper. The setting and view from the backyard of this property is magical, truly beautiful beyond words. The sunrises and sunsets are stunning. The back porch set up for barbecuing or just relaxing with family is outstanding. Plenty of room and amenities in the kitchen....even a Crock Pot! We hope to return to this wonderful property again soon.
