Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Tunoshna could be a breeze or it could drag on forever. We've pulled together some useful travel tips that will help you start your next great escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, put in your passport, important documents, cash and medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a laptop filled with your favourite movies are always good options. If you intend to take a short snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you arrive looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Don layers of natural-fibre clothing and bring a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin. Opt for a pair of roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the stilettos and heavy boots in your checked baggage.
- The serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a pair of compression socks may also help.
