Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will get your Sevilla escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:

• A plane ride can be a pleasure if you've got all the right gear. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any vital medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. • You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.

The secret is to be well prepared before you get to airport security. That way, you'll be hopping onto that plane to Sevilla in the blink of an eye. Follow these tips and get your trip off to a great start:

• Your travel ID and boarding pass will need to be inspected by security personnel. Keep them within easy reach so you don't have to dig around for them.
