No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of top travel tips that will help get your Mompiche holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
