Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Dungiven escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:

• Flying can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. What to wear on a flight:

• You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by wearing layers, and opt for easy-to-remove footwear like sneakers.
• Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.

• Security personnel first need to establish that you have a valid passport and boarding pass before you can proceed any further. Keep them within easy reach.
• Next up is the X-ray machine. Empty your pockets and remove anything that is likely to beep. This includes things like earphones or headphones, as well as your coat or jacket. They'll need to be placed on the conveyor belt for screening.
