- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you take the right things. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your important medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and choose shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to remove.
- The result of sustained periods of immobility, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
