Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've put together a list of handy hints that will help get your Bardibas escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, important documents, cash and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are some wonderful options. If you plan to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you touchdown feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between airlines, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, drills, fuel and fireworks. Sports equipment like baseball bats, and items that could harm other people, such as pepper spray and guns, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by layering up, and wear flat, enclosed footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
