What a great place to stay!
This was the most out of the world place we stayed in.
we travelled all over Germany for 10 days, but did not have anything as nice and spa like at the Romantik.
I loved the pool and spa area. Breakfast was above expectation.
I hope to go back and stay for 3 - 4 days.
This place is really cute! Our check-in experience wasn't that great because we got there at 11pm and apparently we were supposed to call if we were going to be later at 6pm and the old man behind the counter gave us some lip even though there were no instructions to call ahead and we've already paid for our room.
Other than that, our experience was very pleasant. We only stayed for the night so I cannot say anything about the town, but here's what I can say:
Parking - it's street parking and you pay at the meter. We parked right outside the hotel and at this time (July 2011) it was 20 cent Euros for 30 minutes.
Breakfast - they have a full breakfast with bread, meats, cheese, yogurts, jams, honey, cereal, eggs, sausages, etc. Their tea selection is extensive.
Amenities - they have a really cute spa (sauna) and pool area that looks very Turkish. We didn't get to use the amenity due to time constraint.
Room - there is no air conditioning in the room (at least not in our which is the regular double room). We were in the back connecting house. Outside was really cool, but we didn't dare open the windows too much as it opened to a common area. We had a very cute canopy bed. They offered free sherry as a welcome drink. The toilet and bathroom were separated. They provided shampoo, conditioner, etc. all the good stuff. Water pressure was great too.
Conclusion: We would definitely come back and spend more time and make it more of a romantic getaway.
The room was small, as most boutique hotels are, but the rate was very good.. They even offered free internet, and a nice touch was the draft of sherry they left for us upon check-in. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was small, but clean and functional. Breakfast was good, but not the best I've had in Europe, probably par for the course for a boutique hotel. We did eat dinner there, and their restaurant is very high quality. They serve a popular creme brulee & berries. The biggest complaint we had was the noise. The hotel is right on the market plaza, so YOU MUST ASK FOR A QUIET ROOM if you plan on getting any sleep.
This hotel was an excellent choice.
Very friendly people.
Easy to get to.
Great food and service.
We are going back in September.

* Zimmer & technische Ausstattung abgewohnt
und veraltet
* hellhörig, dadurch nicht gerade ruhig
* knarrende Dielen im ganzen Zimmer
* Zimmertüren ohne sichere Schlösser
* Restaurantpreise unverhältnismäßig hoch
* Gebühren für Internet nicht mehr zeitgemäß
* Rechnungsstellung war nicht möglich, jetzt hab
ich Probleme mit Spesenabrechnung
This is a historical hotel that is actually 2 houses linked by a bridge built over an existing road. The hotel faces the main square of the town. We arrived late and the restaurant was able to accomodate a simple but delicious meal for us. The front desk, breakfast room and restaurant are in the first house. Our room was in the second house so we had to go up and down some stairs in both houses to get to our room. But we were very pleased with our room with its very comfortable canopy bed, and leaded glass windows and door opening onto the private courtyard overlooking the spa pool. Service was excellent. WiFi was complementary but it did not work on our laptop (possible protocol differences). Parking on the street was free on weekends. The only downside would be the restaurant being closed on Sunday and Monday.
Beautiful old hotel in a wonderful old medieval town. The hotel was very clean, the room and bed very comfortable with those wonderful fluffy comforters. The indoor pool and sauna were also a real treat. Staff very friendly. Only negative was the long hike from the elevator down a hall, up a flight of stairs, across another hall joining two buildings, down two flights of stairs and another long hall to the bedroom, dragging all the bags. The included breakfast was excellent.
Sehr freundlicher Empfang in gepflegtem Hotel.
