"Pension Barbara is a very cosy and clean pension right next to the paths leading up to The Brocken. The hostess was very sweet and attentive, and we had a good stay. Schierke as a town is a bit dated and quiet in the autumn, when we visited. Is was difficulty to find a place to just have a couple of drinks etc. The national park, Brocken and paths are all excellent for a short hiking-holiday. Great nature, chalenging paths (if you want it), nice restaurant on the summit."

Ich hoffe, dass sich das bald ändert, damit das Hotel nicht verfällt. Das Frühstück war in gut, wenn auch nicht sehr abwechslungsreich. Aber für einen kurzfristigen Aufenthalt in Ordnung."
