Loved this Farm House

A warm and wonderful place
Our family loves everything about this property: its location, spaciousness, layout of rooms, beautiful dishes, lots of books, so many personal mementos and touches that it feels as if you are staying with a family, not a rented house.

Perfect family reunion!
We could not have found a better house to hold all the visiting kids and grandchildren for our family reunion to celebrate our parents 60th anniversary! Super convenient location just a short walk to Main Street and an easy drive to Centerville Beach that allowed us to take morning beach walks and return for amazing sunsets! The house had everything we needed and more. With the living room, the sunroom/dining room and the kitchen all open to each other, we had plenty of space for the teens and younger kids to have their own space but still have everyone close. And the fire pit was a great gathering place at the end of the day. We only wish we had more time in Ferndale to enjoy this beautiful home!

Great location and amenities
the place was very clean and accommodating as we were able to find whatever we needed. We enjoyed the great location on the country hill as we could easily walk to town and in the area. The views are nice and picturesque. It worked great for the family wedding we were in town for.

A fantasic home in an idyllic setting next to the walkable little town of Ferndale
This home exceeded our expectations in every way, from the unbelievably well-equipped large kitchen to the huge bank of windows that looks out on the small farm fields that surround the home and the other homes and barns nearby. We saw goats, a group of mature turkeys, lots of hawks and even the rare sight of a gray fox hopping across the field one afternoon. A very relaxing and roomy home that made a great centerpiece for our lasting family memories. Although the home is vintage, it was clean and very well maintained, and everything worked perfectly.

Such a Charmer!
Thank you, Sharon and Sylvia! We had a wonderful time at your property. My sister and her husband stayed in the Garden Suite below the Bluff House and were very comfy. We stayed in the Bluff House and enjoyed the close proximity to my niece's wedding at The Bluff- just a few miles down the road! And although we also rented the Library Suite, some family members weren't able to come so no one stayed there, but we enjoyed the attached gameroom and played some ping pong before the wedding! The entire property was beautiful- the photos don't capture all of its charm. We even enjoyed time with "Barnadette", the sweet kitty who roamed around outside. Thank you for making this property available and we look forward to coming back soon!

Ferndale for the tour of the unknown coast
The experience of my friendless: clean, tidy, spacious. It is probably time to change the mattresses and the kitchen cookware/ utensils could use an upgrade.

LOVE THE FARMHOUSE
This is our group's second stay at the Farmhouse and I would have given a Five Star rating if it weren't for the firmness of the upstairs queen bed. VERY hard and I'm getting too old ;-) Still, everything else about the property, including the owners, is TOP NOTCH!

This Bluff house was roomy and interesting with all of the unique family history throughout the home. We came for a family wedding and the Ferndale Bluff house had adequate sleeping arrangements. We had plenty of space for the teenagers and the adults to visit when some of our Ferndale family came. The host were easy to communicate with as needed. We would recommend this property.

Family Road Trip
Our visit was amazing! Family from the Midwest came to do a road trip to Northern California. Such a nice place to put our roots and travel to different areas around the California coast. Our hostess was amazing and answered all of our questions and was available when we needed some instructions on how to use the television. It was very warm and welcoming, clean and well stocked. The farmhouse is peaceful with a beautiful view including wild turkeys and deer in the meadow. We would definitely come back!

Beautiful property - perfect for large group
My extended family rented the main house and both suites for a large gathering. The property is lovely - we enjoyed watching the cows in the pastures around us - and the deer and wild turkeys roaming the area. The units are all nicely furnished and well stocked for getting everyone together for meals and visiting. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful property, great location, fantastic hosts!
We rented all three parts of the house for a small friend reunion and we had a lovely time. All three rentals are great -- the main house is spacious, very well stocked with everything you could need, full of interesting decorative touches and has a great main room flooded with light. The Library Suite and the Garden Suite are beautifully designed. The outdoors spaces are also really nice -- fireplace, lawn, cherry trees, seating areas. And we very much enjoyed our interactions with the hosts. They were responsive, thoughtful and accommodating. They clearly take pride and joy in what they do and it shows. We are looking forward to coming back!

Great house and great owner
We loved by our stay on the beautiful ten acre property. It was so relaxing! The farmhouse was exceptionally clean and the beds were comfy. There were lots of toys and games for the kids. We loved the four visiting wild turkeys! The owner was great and answered all my questions. I would like to come back and stay a week next time.

Amazing!
This spot is so pretty! The house is spacious and had everything we needed. More than enough space and we loved the fire pit in the back yard. Our hosts were responsive and lovely. We’re big fans of Ferndale :)

Wonderful Humboldt Thanksgiving
Dear Sylvia and Sharon, Your Bluff House Properties made for a wonderful gathering spot for our family. Everyone loved the accommodations. Fun family weekend
I was here with my husband, our kids (ages 5 and 7), and my mother-in-law. We all had a great time. The kids loved running around in the yard, my mother-in-law loves the trail into town, and we all loved the view out of the big windows. Ferndale is an awesome town and this house is the perfect home base.

Our stay was fantastic; the house is spacious, clean and comfortable. The hosts were very responsive to any questions we had but they allowed us complete privacy while we were here. It’s like staying in a dollhouse
The house was absolutely adorable! It really is like staying in an actual dollhouse. So many windows, lots of natural sunlight. Adorable rooms, especially the upstairs landing. They had all the necessities, including AMPLE seating! It was quiet and very peaceful with lots of greenery and a fire pit outside (we didn’t use it, but it was nice to know it was there). The host, Sharon was quick to respond and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place, can’t wait to be back!

Amazing refuge from the wildfire smoke.
What a amazing place to stay, we had our a family stay here. A big group and we also had the library suite rented. We saw turkeys and deer, used the grill. Ferndale seems to be just out of the reach of the wildfire smoke. It was so nice to get a break from the smoke and to breathe fresh air. The house was great and comfortable and we loved it. Thanks for this wonderful refuge and relaxing place to stay!

Beautiful quaint home in lovely setting
House was excellent in every way. Very quaint, well-equipped, just outside of town. Nice view of several farms and homes (and maybe the ocean if there is not fog). Communication was great and the manager was extremely efficient and responsive. Note that it is called the "Farm House" though it is not actually on a farm so there are no farm animals on site.

Excellent place to relax. Also the perfect location for touring the redwoods, Trinidad, lost coast and walking to town. Very relaxing. We enjoyed sitting outside watching the wildlife around us….deer, turkey and many beautiful songbirds. Highly recommend this place…We had 5 in our group but this place would be great for family reunion…plenty of space to spread out.

We loved this place!
Wonderful. Would be perfect for 2 couples with young kids or parents/kids and grandparents, etc... Also would be great for a larger group because there are three separate places on this same property. Plenty of privacy even if they had been booked (which they weren’t.) So clean and the hospitality is top notch. Lots of good food in Ferndale. Unmarked hiking trail into verdant Russ Park is across the street. Great drive out to the coast/Petrolia if you don’t mind a tiny country road. Wild country. Pretty close to a Eureka and Fortuna for more supplies/restaurants. Just great, we’ll probably be back!

Wonderful family getaway
We brought kids and grandkids to this beautiful place. The house is so “homey.” It has everything you need for cooking, has plenty of room for the kids to play outside, beautiful views, and is peaceful and quiet. Sharon and Sylvia are quick to respond to any questions and are genuinely nice people! Overall it was just a fabulous place to spend time with family and enjoy the amazing Humboldt area.

Location of the property was perfect. It was a half mile walk into the center of town, but the house location is out in the country. It was a very relaxing stay and the house is set up well for being inside or outside. Fire pits are so nice.

House of Love
The Bluff house has a wonderful feeling of love and care. It is filled with beautiful, personal objects, lots of books, games for children. It is very clean and beautifully presented. All of us staying there felt so fortunate to be there. A wonderful stay!

What an amazing place to say in such a cool little town
The farmhouse was perfect. After a full day of driving, the quiet house nestled snuggly up on a bluff overlooking the town and valley made for a restful end of our trip. The house comes fully equipped with everything you might have need of. We were able to make a full dinner without a hitch since the kitchen had all we needed.

Farmhouse Vacation
This was such a needed and wonderful vacation. The house was charming, warm and welcoming. We wish we could have stayed longer! There is so much to see and do in this community! There is a beautiful hiking trail just a few steps from the house, a delightful Main Street in town, two majestic old cemeteries down the road, a beautiful beach less then 10 minutes drive away, and the Avenue of the Giants just a short jaunt down Highway 101. Even with all these cool fun places beckoning us, we just wanted to stay at the farmhouse and enjoy the quiet, calm atmosphere. We picked wild blackberries along the road near the house, made friends with the barn cat, and let the grand kids run around the property. We will definitely return! But next time we will stay longer. Thank you for the opportunity to live in an authentic farmhouse, even if it was only for a few days.

Absolutely charming, well-stocked home only blocks from town
What a delightful home and visit. I brought my three children, And we couldn't have been more comfortable or delighted with all of the charming touches in this very clean home. A bonus for deer in the yard and cattle on the farm. There's even a resident outdoor cat. In addition, the owners were super friendly and responsive. Furthermore, if you haven't been to Ferndale, it is the cutest little preserved Victorian town. A quick 10-minute drive to Centerville Beach, where you can swim and chase the waves, and also less than 30 minutes from avenue of the Giants to see some of the Redwoods attractions. I could not recommend this home more! There are three properties to rent on this site. The main house, a little garden apartment below the main house, and a separate outbuilding. We rented the main house, which has four bedrooms. The outbuilding was also rented while we were there, but we did not really notice it.
