They would have gotten a 5-star for all but they are remodeling and when we arrived there was no one at the office to check the guys in. We had to stay at another hotel but they were more than helpful in giving us a full refund and easy to work with. I am sorry the guys couldn't stay here while they were out of town working on a cell tower site. Hopefully will get another chance to visit this place.

If you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway this place was great! The lake is beautiful and you can kayak or just sit out by the water and relax. The cute ducks in the property were my favorite. Would definitely go back again.

Comfortable and quiet! The AC and cozy beds made up for the room being a little dusty. A couple of things to note for future guests: the lake has a lot of weeds, and while I didn't see any, there are warning signs that alligators are in the area. A swimming pool would be an excellent addition for guests who don't have a boat.

The Waterfront Outpost on the Shores of Lake Marion. Bells Marina is a practical mix of full-hookup RV sites, glamping tents, and a 12-room lodge. The property is built for the "get up and go" lifestyle. Our room was clean, functional, and equipped with all the essentials and even some freebies. The property is fully gated with 24/7 camera surveillance and ample free parking. You have to check-in in the store building facing the road where you get a tag for your vehicle. The real "lobby" there is the lakefront. Guests have full access to well-maintained common outdoor spaces. In the early spring, it was a sanctuary of silence. Directly adjacent to the property is the Eutaw Springs Battlefield, a pivotal Revolutionary War site. We went for a walk and learned quite a bit of history. Bells Marina is a pocket gem of the Lowcountry but it is rather rural.There is a small on-site store for essentials, but the stretch between there and Santee is largely undeveloped. Honestly, Santee is not that fancy :) We went to the closest IGA to stock up on your favorite groceries to take full advantage of the lakeside dining and didn't regret it. The morning shower was hot and strong and the towels were fluffy. These guys (thanks God) don't use cheap scented detergents or cleaners. Although pet-friendly, the place smelt fresh and was sparkling clean. We were pretty happy to find this landing spot to enjoy the best of the Santee Cooper lake system. Don't forget your fishing gear!

I love this place! It is off the highway and chain hotel track, is wonderfully unique and full of friendly characters, but is only about 10 minutes from 95. There's a little fenced in area for dogs. A little drip in the shower and you can hear people walking above you if you're on the first floor, but everyone settles down early. Mist on the water in the morning, just beautiful.

Booked online around 6:30pm, arrived at 9pm with no idea how to check in, the general store was just closing up and that’s when we found out that they had a $30 late arrival fee (they waived it). We then received access to the room which was nice we and settled in for the night. It was then that we found that the room floor had not been swept and was dirty, the bed sheets were not changed and there was hair, skin and other items on the bed sheets. We finally crashed as we were traveling from Florida and decided to sleep on the top comforter like a taco.

The staff was so friendly!!! Everything was amazing and they were so accommodating. Blew my mind at how willing they were to work with us despite us not realizing they closed check-in at 10, and we weren’t able to show up until 10:50 but they still stayed and checked us in. And they were so cheerful about it ❤️ Thank you guys so much you really saved us and made our short stay so peaceful. Also those were actually the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in and I’ve stayed at some NICE hotels. Such a nice experience!

A great getaway

A perfect way to get connected to my wife Beautiful place and the staff was awesome. The ourside was like a picture in a magazine. The outside was clean and the fish was jumping. Thank you for a enjoyment weekend. Hope to see you soon

The wife and I were cooking seafood outside on the patio when a rain storm blew in, horrible downpour. We tried several times to get in our room, the key would not work , the FOB would not work. We were stuck in the rain for a total of 30 minutes, all food/supplies ruined. When I went and finally found the owner, he basically called me a liar and tried to make it my fault, tried to be-little me in front of other customers. He refused to comp me for the room or all the seafood/supplies. I'm pretty sure he has "little man" complex. And it wasn't only us, there was 3 other families. This place is like a pig with lipstick, when you walk on the floors it sounds like you're going to fall in, broken concrete strairs, room locks fall to work, paper thin walls. Hopefully your're driving a truck, the place is one big pothole. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, FIND ANOTHER PLACE.
