Cozy Garden Cabin patio, pool, pets just two blocks to the lake and fishing dock

The Shady Rest is a cute, cozy and comfortable garden cabin secluded from the rush of life. Located down Texanna in Sandy Bass Bay 3 (Jane's Jungle), this house is a close walk or golf cart ride to Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma beaches. We are within a mile of two launch ramps, and not far from Belle Starr Marina or Porum Marina and launch ramps. The other side of hwy 69 is Lake Eufaula State Park with many types of recreation including horseback riding and golf. Guests with kids enjoy Jelly Stone Park located at the town of Eufaula by the marina. This is a guest house that has its own patio and is located next to The Big Sandy Lodge that is our home.

There is a large grassy tree lined front yard with plenty of parking for guests and toys. The Shady Rest downstairs has dining area, kitchen, full bathroom with combination bathtub and shower. The living room has a double French door to the patio. Sofa day-beds are two twin beds one with storage and one a twin trundle bed. Upstairs has area with a twin bunk bed and closet on one side and a queen bed on the other.

The French doors open onto a pet friendly patio. Just through the next gate and up the steps behind our home is the deck with conversation seating, hot tub and pool that is open for the summer available only to Shady Rest guests. Please follow the pool and safety requirements and enjoy. Just a short walk to the lake for fishing or boating. There is boat parking with electricity, a fish cleaning station and minnow barrel for those here for pleasure fishing or tournaments. Contact us when you make your reservation if you need information about boat launching, fishing, docking and boat parking.

The location 421464 Big Sandy Drive (1165 Rd), Eufaula OK 74432. When you enter the address on your phone, select the "Big Sandy Lodge and Shady Rest" popup. Exit the 69 fwy going south on Texanna. Drive 5.1 miles to turn right onto 422 (0). If you see a sign for Lindsey Chapel or Sandpiper Cove, you have gone too far down Texanna.

Travel past Push Hill to a right-hand curve onto 1170. Continue to the next intersection and turn right towards Sandy Bass Bay 3. The 3rd road turn right onto 1165 Rd, aka Big Sandy Drive. Please continue down 1165 to the last house on the right.

Kerry was very friendly and accommodating it was raining the night we stayed so didn’t get to swim but did get to enjoy the hot tub! The cabin was nice quiet and cozy just want we needed to spend some quality time with our kids.

We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful cabin in Oklahoma! The location was perfect for a relaxing getaway. The cabin was exceptionally clean and well-stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would definitely love to come back again. Great little hideaway that has a nice bit of nature, fishing, hiking and is very dog friendly! Possible swimming area on lake but we didn't ask.

A peaceful night's stay in a lovely location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Shady Rest in Eufaula! We were only there for an overnight stay and wish that we could have stayed longer. The area and the house were very quiet - our sleep was awesome! We were traveling with dogs; they really enjoyed the calm, quiet neighborhood for their walk the following morning - we felt completely safe walking on the streets of the small community and were treated with a beautiful sunrise over the lake. The house was well-appointed and had everything we needed for our brief stay. I was particularly enchanted with the super cute washcloth display in the bathroom - I'm not sure why, but it made me smile to see so many washcloths arranged like art. The hosts were friendly, but fully respected our space and privacy. We will definitely stay here again if we have the chance.

Cozy and convenient

This was perfect. The location to our family reunion at Pickens Lake campground was so easy for us. Having our dog with us was a big part of the goal for our stay. The only hotel I would consider does not allow dogs and the security of us at The Shady Rest gave me peace of mind. Our hosts were gracious and friendly. I highly recommend to anyone going to visit Lake Eufala

Great weekend!

My wife and I had an amazing weekend here. It was very cozy, clean, and peaceful. The hot tub was awesome! It was a great way to relax after a long work week. Glen and Kerry were awesome! Love the fresh eggs they gave us and their dogs are beautiful and super friendly. I would highly recommend staying here. Location is nice, right in between Checotah and Eufaula.

Nice little cabin . We really enjoyed our stay . The hot tub was actually on the property manager's back patio , approximately 8ft in front of their living room windows . Otherwise a very nice cabin for my wife and my anniversary

Sisters and brother fishing vacation.

The house was perfect for our needs. Sister’s upstairs and brother downstairs with his two dogs. We enjoyed the patio with the grill and the swimming pool was extra. Glen and Kerry were excellent hosts. All our needs were met and more.

Anniversary get away

We were able to relax and get away from the day to day responsibilities. The location is quiet and near a finger of the lake so you can access the lake quite easily. It was very hot on our trip, so it was very comfortable in our little house with the mini splits. Our hosts were very kind. They have some beautiful dogs. Very friendly.

Great stay for us anglers and our pup!

Such a cute unique couple that we now consider friends! Great people to work with! Easy place to find, power hook up for our boat batteries, spacious, comfortable and clean! We can’t wait to stay there again on our next tournament outing at Lake Eufaula. Definitely gonna make extra time for the hot tub and back yard setting! They are friendly, helpful, and conversational great host! Something we love to see! Much appreciated.

Very pleasant experience

The owners, Glen and Kerry were very hospitable and friendly. They stay on the same property so they were very accessible anytime we had any questions. I loved that we could take our doggo with us. Lincoln loved being able to run around in the big yard and walking down to the lake with my husband and I. The house was very clean and perfect for our little weekend getaway. Also, the hot tub was divine for a relaxing evening after the days activities, and while the owners were on property we were afforded plenty of privacy. Overall we had a great first experience and would definitely go back to The Shady Rest.

Charming and quiet

The place is cute. Quiet neighborhood. The owners are so sweet and kind. There dogs are adorable. The only thing was the floor downstairs was very dirty and there was no broom so I could clean it. There was garbage in the garbage can and garbage under the main bed upstairs. Other than that clean and cute. The bathroom was overstocked with lots of towels and other stuff, I loved that! We felt like in the pictures the hot tub was on our side at our place but it is not. It's on there deck in front of there windows. We decided not to use it to as no privacy. We looked for the pool and it was an above ground little pool. We felt like it was kinda deceiving. Other than that it was what we needed to relax.
