Great cabin but poor communication.
Cabin was awesome! Clean and great decor. No Wi-Fi or cell service so hard to ask owner questions. Felt I got smart ass answers instead of just a simple answer. Also no way to contact anyone in case of emergency. Not very secure. Key tied to a string outside. Yes out in the middle of nowhere but a simple keypad would be better. Much further from Glacier than I expected.

Glacier Vacation
Wow!! We loved our stay at Robert’s cabin. Perfectly located for our trips to both East and West Glacier, the cabin is secluded with the most beautiful view off the back deck. We loved watching the trains! The interior and furnishings were immaculate. The kitchen was well-stocked and perfect for cooking large meals. The washer and dryer was a huge plus. From bedding to linens to decor- everything was just top notch. We also appreciated Robert’s excellent recommendation for horseback riding at Snowy Springs. Shawn and his team were wonderful with the most well-behaved, sweetest trail horses!! We’re already thinking about our next visit. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin!!

A Perfect Place to Stay
This property was absolutely perfect for our family. It was immaculately clean and very well stocked. We had 4 adults and 3 children and we fit very comfortably in the space. The location worked wonderfully for us as well, essentially right in between the west and eastern park entrances, so we could go either direction without having to drive too far to get into the park. We loved staying here and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit this beautiful area!

Nice stay away from it all
It was an enjoyable stay while visiting Glacier. Quick 30-45 minutes from either gate. No internet, which was already communicated, so don’t expect to get signal either. East Glacier was the best location for wifi, especially at the Lodge. Property was nice, but very overgrown around the house. Didn’t make use of the fire pit because of all the vegetation. Owner states there is satellite tv available, but we never got it to work. Just a word of warning, the train track is just across the valley and constantly goes back and forth ALL day and night. Really wasn’t an issue if you don’t mind the noise; fortunately the whistle was never blown. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

Gorgeous house with a beautiful mountain view
The view from the balconies was fantastic. Mountains and trees for days. We ate our breakfast outside and listened to the birds and the distant train. So picturesque! The house was squeaky clean. If I didn't know any better I would have thought we were the first occupants. All of the furniture, stair rail, counters, floors, cabinets look new. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything a family needs for cooking. There were ziploc bags, laundry detergent, seasonings, coffee, tea and so much more available to use. Comfy beds, excellent pillows. Lots of towels. If I had to be picky, the downstairs shower is pretty funky and not having wifi was inconvenient at times when we needed to look up information. And bring your own wine opener :-) We have stayed at 25+ vacation rentals over the years. This property is in the top 3 for views, comfort and cleanliness.

This home has excellent amenities! The kitchen is well stocked with everything one needs for cooking! There's seating around the kitchen countertop as well as the kitchen table. The living room is spacious for relaxation and visiting. The bathrooms (one walk in shower and the other has a tub and shower) are spacious as well as each bedroom. The large deck with its AMAZING view, BBQ, and patio furniture was more than we expected. I would recommend this property for your stay and we hope to return again!

Directions to the property could be a lot better. We arrived after dark and had a tough time finding it. Directions should note street name is Geifer Creek Road. The “campground” mentioned in the directions is actually named RV Patk Glacier Meadow. The metal cactuses mentioned are covered in vines and not very recognizable as cactus. The “yellow” sign mentioned is so faintly colored that none of us thought it was yellow.

Mountain Retreat
Our daughter had her wedding in Glacier National Park and this cabin was about in the middle of East and West Glacier. While there were other cabins nearby, it felt like you were the only ones around. Being able to detach from technology was a huge plus and would play games when we were not hiking or exploring what the area has to offer. The view off the deck was amazing no matter what time of day. My husband and son loved watching the trains go by in the distance. Directions to the cabin and all things we would have and not have were spot on in the rental agreement. This was the perfect spot to stay to spend with our family before our daughter was married and our 2 youngest go off to college. I will treasure this time always. This is a gem and would stay there again.

Awesome in every way!
This was our first time ever using VRBO, it was everything it was advertised to be. I was worried about finding it because I read other experiences that had a tough time finding it, if you follow the directions, you will go right to it. It was clean, well stocked with the staples, we really liked the mud room right as you came in, the deck towards the mountain was awesome, I enjoyed watching the trains climb the slope. The gas grill came in very handy. The only criticism I would have is about securing the key for entry, but I can’t think of a great solution. Maybe a lock box with a code? Oh yeah, the park was more than awesome 😉, I think we were able to see just about one of every living creature in the park, no lie, bull cow and calf moose, black bears (2 cubs), elk, marmot, ground squirrels, mountain goats, big horn sheep, whitetail deer, mule deer, oh yeah a grizzly bear while we were on a hike. You won’t go wrong if you stay at this cabin, thanks to Robert for sharing his wonderful cabin with us.

Remote forest setting with unparalleled sunrise and sunset views from the deck
We felt fortunate to find this roomy cabin with enough bedrooms for my family of 5. It was not only comfortable and roomy, but extremely well laid out with two levels- of rooms and decks. The lack of cell service meant we spent nights playing games with the kids and had lots of quality time as a family. We grilled almost nightly on the deck and enjoyed the ever-changing weather and the mountain views were amazing. Relaxing on the deck at sunrise and sunset were huge highlights for me. I also loved the remote location and not having closeby neighbors. Finding the cabin was tricky but you just follow the instructions he gives and then follow the signs posted on the trees. The hillside location is prime for the impeccable views of the mountains and train across the canyon from you. Our family enjoyed the games, maps and books in the cabin, as well as the well-stocked kitchen. Rent this cabin for your Glacier adventures. It was perfect for our daily East Galcier outings. Our favorite of which was the boat ride and hike at Many Galcier to Grinnell Glacier. We can't wait to go back!

Remotely located cabin. Very comfortable and clean. No Wifi and bad check in experience.
Awesome: Very comfortable cabin. Nice beds. Awesome couch - that was great for relaxing after long hikes. Amazing decks for star gazing. Great grill. Okay: Nice kitchen, but could use more consumables or better communication about lack of consumables. We had to buy our own aluminum foil, baggies, and some spices which isn't a big issue, but it should be communicated to guests that these things won't be there so we can plan ahead. Especially since the nearest store is quite a drive away. Bad: Checking in was awful. Google has the wrong location listed -this lot is further up the road than is listed. Additionally, we received no instructions from VRBO/owner (messaged owner a head of time when we had reception, but didn't hear back), and when we got to the *wrong* address we couldn't contact owner because there's no wifi or cell service. Thankfully some nice neighbors saved the day and brought us to the correct location. *No wifi/cell service was a big issue* At first we thought it was because of the remote location, but there's a router and extender on-site so the owner just doesn't provide access. I understand that wifi from a satellite is expensive, but there should be an option for guests to pay as we go. At the very least allow us to connect when we first check in so we can call/contact the host if there's an issue.

Response from VrboOwner on 29 Sept 2021
When guest book this cabin they have a Rental Agreement to print out which includes directions and information about the cabin. In that they are told when they will not have cell service from the East or West side. As long as guests print out the directions they will not have trouble finding the cabin. We also include the location of the gal the cleans the cabin for any assistance. We do not have a router or cell service at the cabin. Which is clear on our listing in ammenities and on the Rental Agreement. Our kitchen is well stocked with cooking supplies, but guests need to bring their own food. We are here to answer all questions guests may have about the cabin and their stay. We do ask that you do this ahead of your check in day.

Wonderful Family Cabin
Beautiful cabin and location. Easy access to both East & West Glacier. Cabin was very clean; well-stocked full -sized kitchen with dishes, pots & pans, cooking utensils, etc.; extra bath towels and bedding were available if needed; it was great to be able to do laundry; the propane grill on the deck was very nice; good written directions from the host - which were needed as there is no cell reception (not a problem for us - it was good to be off-line). Our family of five adults (2 couples and 1 single) had comfortable areas to gather together in the living and dining rooms or outside on the gorgeous deck, or have private space in one of the bedrooms. Highly recommend this location.

Robert’s home is everything that’s advertised. Our family ranges from outdoor purists to others that wouldn’t think about baiting a hook; all of which found our experience in this Essex mountain side home a sure delight. Limited Wi-Fi is not always a bad thing . . . quality family time is a great thing! Loved the deck side views and watching and listening to the distant trains peacefully maneuvering the mountain-sides. Thanks so much Robert for this awesome stay and also for your willingness to work with us in rescheduling our reservation throughout the pandemic. Our family is extremely grateful . . . hoping we can have another opportunity to revisit your home sometime down the road. Gary and Melissa Brimeyer Solon, IA

Great stay, great location
We stayed here for a week in early June, we rent from VRBO all the time and this was at the top of the list for our stays. The location is on the south side of Glacier about half way between the East and West side so it's a perfect location if you are planning on spending time visiting both sides of the park. Plenty of space for large family's and the surrounding views are beautiful. Wish I could post pictures :) No complaints and would stay again if in the area. The only thing which was okay with us is there is very limited cell service, it mostly doesn't work but if you get in the right spot then it works on occasion, we had both Verizon and AT&T, both had issues but Verizon had a slight edge.

Lovely comfortable home base for Glacier
The house was just as advertised, in a beautiful location and with good proximity to Glaciwr NP. Fully equipped kitchen, even including things you might have forgotten (cooking spray, salt and pepper etc). There are some animal truphies so, if you have strong feelings about that you might want a different option. But location and amenities were great. And really and truly off the grid …but with satellite tv !

This cabin is awesome! Exactly how it is described. A group of us rented the cabin for 5 nights to run the vacation races Glacier half marathon as well as explore GNP for the first time. We were NOT disappointed! Coffee every morning on the vast deck facing Elk mountain and Mt Shields (I think), campfire in the pit, home cooked meals in the ample kitchen. Everything was clean and well appointed. No cell service or internet which forced everyone to unplug and it was glorious! I would 1000% rent this cabin again!

Wonderful home in a beautiful spot. Great time for reflection. Needs some storage space for clothing in a couple of the bedrooms. Some had to live out of their suitcases. Communication with owner wasn’t good after arrival, due to no cellular service. But we were advised of that prior to our trip. Trash disposal became an issue as there was only one trash can on the deck for overflow & there were 8 people in the house for a week. We were unable to find a community dumpster, so we paid a camping park to let us dump the excess there. The views were spectacular. We would stay there again, most definitely.

Extremely clean property. Loved the two balconies ( neither had stairs which made us feel very safe). Balcony of bedroom was amazing...the view and so high was just terrific. The property is far too big for just two people but we really wanted a good location and view. If you have a larger family with you then it will be perfect. There are neighbors but you feel secluded. The location is great for West Glacier and Two Medicine. We liked Two Medicine best as it had fewer people. All appliances worked well. Be sure to get groceries before you go to the house as it is not close to grocery stores. I would highly recommend this place to friends and family and would stay here for sure on a return trip.

better than the pictures!
Our group of 2 couples stayed at this home for 3 nights while visiting the Two Medicine area of Glacier NP. The location was good for that entrance, and we found some other great hiking even closer to the cabin. Lots of privacy at the cabin being at the end of the road, just a little confusing the first time you try to get in. The cabin itself is great. As others have stated, the pictures don't do it justice. We loved every minute of our stay here. Lots of space, super comfortable, and amazing views from the deck. Kitchen was fully stocked, and we grilled out several nights. The beds were also very comfortable. Make sure you stock up on food ahead of time, not much around the area. We did go to the Snow Slip bar/grill just up the road one night. We got the chance to talk with Robert in person the one morning, and that was a really interesting conversation. He's filled with all kinds of stories from the area, could have listened all morning. If you're looking for a challenging hike look up Elk Mountain in Glacier National Park, you can hike the peak directly in view from the deck of the cabin. Great climb! Super fun to look back and see the cabin from the top. Would highly recommend this cabin, you won't be disappointed. We all wished for more nights here.

Great cabin in a GREAT location
We had to switch our reservations to somewhere closer to East Glacier after the Howe Ridge Fire in August 2018. We chose this property and it was lovely. The house has a tremendous view and you can watch Amtrak and the freight trains cross the mountain in the far distance day and night from the deck. It is very close to Two Medicine and just a short drive away from St. Mary and Many Glacier. We were also able to visit West Glacier (about 45 minutes away). You can get both sides of the park and also visit some really great places on Route 2 (Izaak Walton Inn, Summit Restaurant, etc.). It is rural and charming, but you are 'on the grid' (I did have one bar on my phone!) and have neighbors close by, which made me feel super comfortable. Loved it, would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Week in the mountains
Glacier National Park is awe-inspiring and this "cabin" made our stay even better. Beautiful view, secluded, and plenty of space for our needs. In hind site, we were glad the crowded park hotels were full, because we found this peaceful cabin in the woods! Booking was easy, smooth, and accommodating. Centrally located to either West or East Glacier entrances, and we didn't mind the morning drive either way (45 minutes vs. 15 minutes). A variety of birds sang to us each morning and evening as we ate breakfast & dinner on the deck. The sentinel mountain goat was awesome. A great vacation spot we would recommend to anyone traveling in the area. We will certainly want to return — next time with our family!

Fabulous
We had a great time at this house. The views were fabulous. It is a great 'base of operations' for accessing either entrance of the park. We made 3 excursions into Glacier and raft trip on the Middle Flathead over 4 days. While at the house we mainly soaked in the view and watched the trains work up and down the pass. Had a black bear come up to the fire pit the first evening (while we were inside) to check out the newcomers. The house is secluded and lacked nothing. We would not hesitate to book this house again.

Peaceful setting with great views
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was super clean, comfortable and exactly as portrayed on line. Short distance (maybe 1/2 mile) off of highway 2 so you couldn't hear any noise other than the distant clack of the train. Nicely equipped and fun to eat outside on the huge deck. The bedrooms were comfortable but the upstairs master with more mountain views had no curtains or shades (we loved it) so if you're light sensitive bring eye shades. Good place to stay to explore east glacier and particularly the two medicine area. Remember this park is huge and it takes a while just to drive to where you are going. Make sure you bring food with you because there aren't many nearby options. Would definitely recommend and we would stay again.

Our family of 8 enjoyed this stay! Great space, beautiful views, secluded - a great get away!
Our family of 8 enjoyed our stay for 6 days. We planned on doing a lot of activity in Glacier, so this was a good option. It took approximately 20m to E Glacier and 45m to W Glacier. We do love to camp, but opted for a kitchen, bathrooms and more space this go around. The cabin is secluded - a great feature. You will have little, if any, cellular service; which I like! Because of the seclusion, I would have changed a few of the directions to the cabin. We were not given an actual road name for the turn and there is in fact the name of the road-Giefer Creek. This would have been assuring as we were a bit skeptical on the turn. It also is past the "Forest Service Access" sign, which is slightly different than the name of sign we were given. We still found it on the first try, but we were questioning ourselves. The cabin was well stocked. Plan to get groceries at least 1hr to 1.5 hrs away. This is fine, just need to have coolers/plan accordingly. You can get essentials nearby-pricey. I did need to bring a crock pot (as we planned to be gone most of the day and wanted supper ready upon return) & a pitcher for making lemonade/juice, otherwise we were fine with what was provided. With a family of our size we had to be very careful about timing our showers/baths. We weren't all able to do this one after another. This was a bit disappointing after a long day of hiking & not all being able to get a hot/warm shower. We even tried giving each other time limits...sometimes difficult, with teenagers ;). We were able to utilize the firepit area one evening. This was enjoyed by all. I loved sitting on the deck each night and looking at mountains, smelling pine and watching trains go by (in the distance, not a bother). We would recommend this cabin to anyone considering this area! We were pleasantly surprised as we walked in the first day...looked better than some of the pictures even. Please do inquire about pricing. The price you see on web could vary. Our stay was about $60/night more than what VRBO ad showed based on various ages of kids. I wish if a home is advertised to accommodate 'x' amount of people, then the price shown would reflect that; not additional charges on top of that. This could be common; perhaps for cleaning since that is not an additional fee shown on advertisement. I still find it misleading. As I'm researching, I want to know what to expect; not be 'surprised' when I make the phone call to book the home.
