"An unforgettable experience in the Douro Valley. The views from the property are simply stunning, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special — personalized touches throughout made it feel like far more than just a hotel stay. The chef's dinner was a true highlight, and the wine tasting experience was expertly guided. The only reason this isn't a full five stars is the more rural location means a bit more travel time to reach — but that's also part of what makes the Douro so peaceful and worth visiting. "We had to book a hotel at the last minute on the day we arrived in Porto, and there was literally nothing available in Porto or the surrounding area. Everything was booked, apparently because of a conference and a football match. We were very lucky to find a room at this hotel completely by chance. To be honest, we had very low expectations. It was about 30 minutes from Porto, in a small town, and at that point we were simply happy to have found somewhere to stay. But the hotel turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The room was quite basic, but clean, with clean and comfortable beds, which was exactly what we needed. The staff deserves a special mention. Everyone was very attentive and friendly. They recommended a nearby place to eat and even explained the shortest way to get there. Breakfast was also very good and definitely better than we expected. And once again, the staff really stood out. I accidentally left my shopping bag with some important personal things in the room. They responded to my email, I was able to reach them by phone, and they kept my bag safely until I could come back for it. I really appreciated their help. A good hotel for its price range, with truly excellent staff."
