The Y On Broadway
10/10 Excellent
"A MUST STAY!!! This was our second visit to Jim Thorpe but our first stay at the Y on Broadway and we will NEVER stay anywhere else!! This boutique hotel is full of charm and warmth from both their magnificent fireplace and staff! Beth took the time to tell me all about the rich history of the building, one of the original YMCA locations in all of the US, and we had the pleasure of meeting Duke, one of the owners, who took me on a private tour to show me the beautifully rustic double bed frames which he built by hand! Each room is exceptionally clean and crisp with meticulous attention to detail (check out the individually unique live edge tables and desks in each room made by a local artisan). The entirety of the Y is packed with all of these small touches which make it a truly unique experience. It is nestled right in the heart of the downtown area with stunning views of Jim Thorpe’s 19th century architecture and of the Poconos which envelop the town. Request the king suite with a balcony spanning the length of the suite which overlooks Broadway!! But don’t forget to ask about the 3rd level basketball court floor still buried beneath the rooms. Thank you for an exceptional stay 💕"
Large private apartment with view of the Old Jail Museum in historic Jim Thorpe.
10/10 Excellent
"Great place. Hosts were easy to reach (we met one of them, and is dog, as we were checking in) and very accommodating. The apartment was in excellent condition, clean, and updated. One of the owners even went out of his way to help me out of a tight spot with my trip, even though I had already checked out. Only regret is that we were only able to stay one night."
"An Unforgettable Stay at The Dolon House
Our time at The Dolon House was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth by John and Eric, whose attentiveness and friendliness set the tone for our entire visit.
The breakfasts alone are worth the stay—each morning brought a delicious, creative multi-course meal that felt more like dining at a fine restaurant than a typical B&B. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, making breakfast the highlight of our mornings.
John and Eric's local knowledge proved invaluable. They offered thoughtful, personalized suggestions for activities and restaurants that perfectly matched our interests, helping us discover gems we never would have found on our own. It was clear they truly wanted us to experience the best of the area.
The accommodations themselves were excellent—well stocked with everything we needed and very comfortable. Every thoughtful touch throughout our room showed how much care John and Eric put into creating a welcoming space for their guests.
If you're looking for a B&B experience that goes above and beyond, The Dolon House is it. John and Eric have created something truly special, and we can't wait to return."
Cabin In the Trees In historic Jim Thorpe, on the side of Flagstaff Mountain
10/10 Excellent
"The Cabin in the Trees was exactly as described and was everything we were looking for as a stay in Jim Thorpe. The host was amazing with communications and provided us with all the info on all the things to do, places to see and restaurants to visit. At the same time he completely gave us our privacy and we knew we could reach him quickly if necessary. I hope to visit again!"
