Cozy Chalet near Crystal Mountain and Rainier
Welcome to my little escape. *Recent upgrades: new deck front and rear, new slate floor with in floor heat, new carpet, new bedding and curtains* The 960sf chalet style cabin is just past the town of Greenwater (last stop for gas, general store, and cafe) en route to Crystal Mountain. You are walking distance to the Crystal River Ranch clubhouse which has a playground, games, and my kids’ favorite: air hockey.
Crystal River Ranch is a great place for young bikers to explore with minimal traffic and flat roads. There is access to the rivers via the picnic site (no fishing, stony; dangerous, but beautiful). The cabin has 1 bedroom with a queen bed on main floor and a large open rafter loft with a king and two twin beds. The beds are comfortable. The skylights let in some light and are openable. The propane stove does a nice job and sets the mood. The laundry room is by the front door, a good place to stash ski gear and pop it right in the dryer. Six people is the maximum, with one small bathroom, four or five people is comfortable. WAshington Trails Association is my go-to resource for hikes, providing all the info and recent trip reports. You can beat the traffic and be at the mountain in 20 minutes. Careful for ice on the road early in the morning. Internet is there to help you get the latest weather info and stay in touch with friends, as cell service is spotty. The internet is NOT high speed, it is not available.
Elk are often in the yard. Respect these massive creatures by keeping your distance.

Super cute cabin that worked out great for my family with 3 kids. Great location to the National Park. Relaxing walk down to the river to relax and listen yo the water.
We enjoyed staying here as a base for our Mt Rainier explorations. It was close to some great hikes and a comfortable place to come home to. Would definitely stay here again.

My family and I loved this cozy cabin! It's honestly even nicer than the pictures make it look (no offense to the photographer). It was a perfect home base for a ski weekend.
We stayed in the cabin for a short ski trip to Crystal. The cabin is close to the mountain and the few amenities in Greenwater. The cabin was perfect for what we needed - comfortable and convenient lodging. The cabin was very clean and well stocked. We would gladly stay again!
Lots of beds so teens can sprawl.Well appointed kitchen. Space heaters really helped on cold nights!LOVED THE KEURIG and stash of coffee!!!!!Definitely made the coffee drinkers happy!!Thanks for an awesome house at a great price point pretty darn close to Crystal Ski Resort!
It worked well for us and was a great location for exploring Mt.Rainier. I would note that it does not have a lot of kitchen supplies and spices so bring your own. We also could not get the TV to work so it just forced us outside more.
The prooerty is very clean and well appointed. Great bed. Well stocked. Directions to property need a bit of correction. Directions note fire station 7 miles ffom Greenwater as marker to watch for. We believe this should be corrected to read seven tenths of a mile. We had a very nice stay!
This was a great place to stay to ski/ride Crystal Mountain! The house was exactly as described. The heated floor and propane stove made it very comfortable in the cold weather. Everything was clean and worked properly. You can tell the owner takes a lot of pride in the house. You can’t go wrong staying here for a trip to the Crystal Mountain area. This is one of the best places I’ve stayed in.
And would stay again! There is a new comfy couch that's not in the photo. It's very cute and cozy inside. We had everything we needed. We were there for hiking. It was nice to come back to the cabin and take a hot shower or bath and make a meal. There is a nice deck out back to look out into the trees. I went over to the ranch to say hello to the horses. They were very sweet.
The cabin was comfortable and clean. Mostly as advertised. One issue is that we had almost no hot water during our two-night stay. The water was lukewarm at best, so we were not able to shower. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.
