The cottage was perfect. It was clean and fully equipped. Even had an ice maker in the bar area. The location is perfect. We were near the beach and was within an hours drive from several attractions we wanted to visit
There were a couple cooking utensils missing for what we needed, but we weren't too inconvenienced. The bedroom was really comfortable. The internet worked very well; my husband brought his Playstation and he didn't have any problems with his online gaming. The host was very helpful and informative and quick to respond. Overall, we had a really nice stay!
This property far exceeded what we thought we had booked and the host team is fabulous! All the details put into this property would have me searching for it first if I return to this area. They had chilled glasses and freezies waiting for us at arrival! The location was a perfect base camp for our trip and a place we were excited to return to in the evenings. We especially appreciated being able to let our puppy and child run around in the large back yard while we grilled dinner!
Property was nice and comfortable, pictures were accurate. Nice location. We went to Grand Marais and Tahquamanon falls, easy trip to both places. Bedrooms, kitchen and bath were nice.
We loved our stay! The central location allowed for great day trips after cooking breakfast together in the spacious and fully stocked kitchen. Our evenings were quiet and the beds were very comfortable to prepare for the next days adventure. The host was very responsive with our few questions and everything was just lovely. Thank you for a great vacation hangout for our family!
The Mill Pond Cottage was a great stay for our week in the UP. Central to activities that we wanted to do. Daryl was a excellent host! We will definitely consider staying again when we're in the area!
We chose this location because it was down the street from family. The cottage was clean upon arrival and check in was very easy. The house is nicely decorated and came with some amenities to make our short stay comfortable. It was easy to communicate with the host and he even brought us some delicious brownies! We will definitely stay there again when visiting family in the area!
We were on a week long road trip through the UP and the Cottage was the perfect location in between stops (50 min to Picture Rock National Lake Shore in Munising and 50 min to Mackinac Island from St. Ignace). It was a great place to stay with our family of 5 and have amenities such as a full kitchen, laundry, and restaurants within 5-10 minutes away. The owner had nice little “extras” and was very responsive. We had a great stay!
Nice house central to everything restaurant/bar just down the road. Owner is very nice and helpful. We had a great time swimming in Lake Michigan at a park a few minutes away. I am glad I picked this place to stay.
My family very much enjoyed the property. Having a dog friendly property was of top importance for me, and I so appreciate that. My family from Michigan and Minnesota met there for a few days to enjoy Mackinac Island and the UP. We were all very happy with the accommodations, including the friendliness and responsiveness of the host. We would highly recommend the property, and happily stay there again.
Our family of five enjoyed our stay and appreciated the small gestures from the host which made for a great experience. The VRBO was clean and centrally located between several attractions we planned to visit. The host was quick to respond and even left several brochures of activities in the area along with suggestions of places to visit.
This little cottage is adorable, well supplied, and beautifully appointed! There is a huge backyard and plenty of great areas to walk dogs. I communicated with the host many times and he is wonderful to deal with. Also, the cleaner put the air conditioner on, filled the ice container on the wet bar, and left chilled glasses in the freezer for us. Very thoughtful and hospitality above and beyond what would be expected. We would love to stay here again in the future!!
We arrived early afternoon after receiving a note from the host that we could check in early, without us even asking (though we did plan to, but he beat us to it!). The house felt so cozy upon our arrival, it was the right temperature and felt so inviting and welcoming.
The kitchen was fully stocked with just about every tool/utensil one could need (nothing like a fancy chef kitchen, but fancier than my kitchen and better stocked!) There was even storage containers which allowed us to prep our weekend meals and not waste much food.
All of the information that was left was super helpful. The host thought of everything... down to bug spray!
This is the first place weve ever rented off of this app or the others similar to it that the photos and reviews actually protrayed an accurate picture of what we rented.
The only note I would provide is that the boiler for the hot water heat is in the biggest room with the biggest bed. If youre a light sleeper, you may want to select a different room. This was notable to me but not even the slightest bit to my (new) fiance. We simply picked a different room for the rest of the stay. Everything was clean and organized and in logical places.
We picked this place for a special weekend and it most certianly didnt disappoint. Best host, best place. Highly recommend. Will be back!!!
