This was a fantastic place. The farmhouse was a beautiful place to stay with our family. I’d love to stay there again in the summer and explore some of the local trails and ponds. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would recommend.

Nice old farmhouse at quiet location.
Great location and I liked the old house. Easy access to southern White Mountains. Slept great and everything worked good. Would stay there again.
The Story Homestead was a wonderful place to stay for our family's autumn getaway to NH. We loved exploring the surrounding countryside, which was ablaze with fall colors. The kitchen was well-equipped for preparing family meals, and the spacious bedrooms ensured everyone had a comfortable stay. A truly memorable experience - highly recommended!
It’s a great property and we had a blast (two families with toddlers). The staircase is very steep but there’s plenty of room downstairs and outside to roam and play. The beds were comfortable and ACs in every room. Great place for a relaxing rural vacation.
The Story house had plenty of historical charm and we appreciated that the owner shared the history of the house's original owners. We had to cut our stay short because of a work obligation and the owner was gracious about the change, offering a refund for the time we weren't using the space.
It was a journey back in time to the colonial days. Decorated for the holidays was perfect
We walked the property, looked at the maple syrup taps, old foundation and went sledding. Our daughter is renting on Crystal lake and she came to sled too. House was beautiful. We poked our heads into the basement and garage barn! What a history lesson.
Nice property in peaceful environment. Good location.
Loved the historical charm and layout of the property. Check-in process was easy using the coded keyless entry. The backyard was enormous and we enjoyed the peace and privacy of the property. However, the gas grill was very dirty and needed a thorough cleaning before we could even use it. Also, the flavorizer/heat distribution bars were rusty and corroded and should be replaced.
Excellent wi-fi in the farmhouse. Softest bed I've ever slept in, but I found it to be very uncomfortable. Nice flat screen TV, but it only has capability for streaming services, no cable or satellite service. The bathroom on the main floor was spacious with a good shower and plenty of hot water.
Historic home in a beautiful setting. Very comfortable and warm even during some very cold days. Visitors should note that there is only one bathroom so best suited for families.
Cozy home dating back to 1797. It was fun to sit and talk in a New England home with that much history. If you stargaze and get a clear night, you'll see fantastic skies. We brought a telescope and it was well worth it.We went sledding out back and had a blast! Many beds and bedrooms.Internet, wifi, smart TV if you need your technology fix.Would stay there agan.
I rented this for 3 weeks. Michael was a great contact and is very quick to respond when you have a question. We didn’t spend a lot of the days in the house and we were exhausted when we got there each night, but it was a fun place to hang out in the evenings. Thanks for a great stay.
We loved our stay at the Story Homestead. The house was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and we enjoyed snowshoeing in the woods on the newly fallen snow. The king bed was comfortable and the kitchen well-stocked with cooking implements.

Lovely but rainy weekend., couldn’t use amenities such as kayaks because of the weather but hiked Mount Cardigan and enjoyed the warmth of the BnB.

Winter trip
Very nice, comfortable. Plenty of room for our group. Country setting, but not far from town. Interesting history of the property.
My family & I loved this historic property. The house had plenty of space and bedrooms as well as a huge yard with an awesome swing for the kids, the trail in the woods was a huge bonus, cornhole boards, kayaks, life vest, water hose. You name it, they had it. The kitchen had everything one would need. The shower had attachment shampoo, conditioner & body wash which was a big help for those who prefer not to pack there own. I will absolutely chose this home again for any future visits to NH. 10 stars
We loved our stay at the farm house and look forward to returning when we can. The posted description and images are accurate: the property is beautiful and peaceful and the house very comfortable. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay and Mike is an excellent host who quickly responded to any questions.
We enjoy the outdoors and found great hiking trails to explore through our All Trails app but also had business in Hanover NH which was an easy trip north. We would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in visiting the "Upper Valley" area of New Hampshire and Vermont for hiking, skiing, exploring or simply relaxing. We were lucky to experience fantastic foliage during our October visit...a great bonus!

Terrible.
Horrible experience. A single 1st floor window unit does not qualify as an air conditioned. There were lots of spider webs, stained area rug on the dirty bathroom floor, ancient bed mattresses and a bevy steep stairway to the second floor without a railing. Since the only bathroom was on the 1st floor anyone needing to use it would have to navigate it in the dark. Not a good setup. Can NOT recommend this to anyone - especially at the price. Looking for a refund.
We had a lovely sister weekend at this property. The accommodations are cozy and warm and really give you the feel of an older farmhouse. It's quintessential old New England. We loved the local hiking. The stairs are as advertised - steep with no handrail, and there is only one bathroom connected to the main bedroom, but again - this is a farmhouse from the 1700s, so keeping that in mind it was great!
Nice quiet location close to many outdoor recreation opportunities. Liked the sense of home it gave. Only one small issue was with the electronic door lock, it stopped working and were unable to lock the door when we checked out at 11:00.
Called number given for assistance and also sent email but had not received a reply as of the time of this review.
Would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

Quiet retreat
We had a nice stay at this rural 200+ year old home. It was our home base as we explored NH. Wish that Enfield was a bit closer to attractions like Lake W and the White Mountains. We did so much driving. The property owner, Mike, was very attentive. Our son was stung by bees that made a nest under the picnic table and Mike got an exterminator out to the house immediately. There were spices in the cupboard, plenty of towels and beds were comfy. If you like rustic and off the beaten path, you’ll be happy here.
We loved our stay at the Story Homestead! Great history and hiking in the area. Fun, delicious places to eat. The house was perfect! A small issue when we arrived was solved within minutes by our host. Totally recommend staying here!
