A little piece of heaven
Have stayed a few times and we absolutely love this little house. So quiet and peaceful , just what we need to get away from our lives in the city and appreciate GODS country Randy is an absolute gem, very easily to get a hold of and super kind We will be back for sure!

Nice location house needs work and new furniture
Mitch was a good host, the property was in a nice location. The house needs work, under sink was rotted, toilets are small and in tight spaces. The furniture was uncomfortable and in bad shape. There were lots of mousetraps and poison. The walls and trim are going. It would be a great place if you put some work into it. As it is it works but don't expect to much. The wind blew thru the place so we had to have the furnace cranked up to where it ran often. Will I be back I doubt it.

Amazing getaway!
My friends and I stayed at this property just this weekend. When we arrived the property was very clean. We used the kitchen for every meal and had no problems! We even took the boat out for a spin. The property is in a nice spot, secluded and private. Overall awesome getaway thanks to this amazing property!

lovely little get away
This cabin has everything you need for a nice comfortable stay up north. Everything was cleaned and the property is absolutely beautiful. Due to the cold weather we did not use the boat or grill but I loved that they provide activities and things to do in nice weather. I especially enjoyed the wild life around the property and exploring the towns. The owner is very responsive and always answers your questions. I was very pleased with our stay at the little lodge and would love to visit again.

Great Getaway
My partner and I really enjoyed this property. It was secluded and away from most other people but not very far from places that we wanted to visit, such as Ely. It wasn't difficult to find and we were able to settle in very quickly. There were lots of amenities that we enjoyed using, including the fire pit and the grill. We also enjoyed taking the boat out on the water for a little bit despite it being cold weather this weekend. I did have to ask the host where the trolling motor was but he got back to us very quickly and we were able to make use of it. We very much enjoyed our state and would definitely consider coming back in the future.

Perfect getaway
We had a great time at the cabin. The bed was very comfortable and and it we slept very well. The cabin was very well stocked and had everything we needed for our stay. It was very quiet snd peaceful. We did some fishing and caught some very nice bass and northern pike. We hiked many beautiful trails around the area. Mitch was readily available for any questions we had. We had hoped to get a glimpse of the northern lights but unfortunately it was cloudy most of the trip. We would definitely return if we get back to the area.

Amazing time
Great stay at this property. Was everything I was looking for in a summer vacation with my kids. Fishing was great and the temps for late August were amazing. Barely any bugs and very relaxing and refreshing. Highly recommend!!

My family and I stayed and had alot of fun. Close enough to Ely to explore town and Virginia. We caught alot of fish and some largemouth bass over 5lbs. Two batteries for the boat meant we were always able to fish.

Great cabin bad neighbors
I stayed at this cabin every summer the past 3 years 3 to 4 days each stay. Its a nice little cozy cabin on a beautiful lake with a boat. My first time staying at the cabin me and my son were doing some small fireworks at a reasonable time 8pmish immediately the neighbors decided to start shooting there guns in the air as a warning to us!? Second time staying there everything went good mostly. Third time was bad! Arrived at the cabin unloading my car went outside to relax and i noticed a vehicle driving by super slow looking towards the cabin im staying at it turned out to be the neighbors. All of the sudden i hear 7 to 8 shots bullets whizzing across the private lake i rented there goes my peace. Now i have to worry about getting shot at or a potential of it. I dont understand its not hunting season they're not shooting at a target range on their property this is dangerous in my opinion i literally just arrived at the cabin an hour ago and this is my vacation. After they fired there gun across the lake i did not feel safe fishing on that lake or taking the boat out on the lake. I didn't feel safe sleeping there. I decided to leave a whole day early due to this situation. I will not ever go back to this cabin again.

Great cabin bad neighbors
I stayed at this cabin 3 years in a row once per summer the past 3 years its a nice cabin on a beautiful lake. 1st time we stayed at the cabin we did a few small fireworks at a reasonable time it wasn't even dark outside yet maybe 8pmish immediately the neighbors directly across the road 7594 started firing their gun in the air to warn us?! This last time i stayed there a few days back i had just arrived to the cabin maybe an hour there i see someone drive by superslow looking at the cabin they get out of their vehicle and just started firing probably 7 to 8 shots across the private lake im on i can hear the bullets whizzing through the air. In all honesty it scared me. They shouldn't be shooting there guns recklessly like that. Its not hunting season they're not doing target practice.It ruined my whole weekend i didn't feel comfortable fishing on the lake or taking the boat out. I left a day early thats how bad it was i didn’t even feel safe sleeping there. I will not be going back to this cabin again.

We had a wonderful stay. Enjoyed how quiet the location is, surrounded by woods and the little lake on the property. As with any Minnesota stay, bug spray is necessary if you want to be outdoors. The home is stocked well and is comfortable. Nothing fancy, which is what we are looking for in a cabin. Very clean. We really appreciated the time away!

This house was perfect for our family. There was so much room. For us it had everything we would have at home in the house. The host thought of everything. We really enjoyed the beautiful view. Close to a lot of different towns so we enjoyed some shopping. It is also close to our favorite fishing spot. Many lakes and trails within 30 miles. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. We will be back again.

My husband and I went up to the Little Lodge for a long weekend for our anniversary. What a beautiful location and a comfortable cabin. It was just perfect for the two of us. Just a short drive to Ely where we spent a day exploring. We will definitely be going back up there, again.

ATV Weekend
This place was recommended to us by family that had stayed here a couple times. We found it to be peaceful and clean in a beautiful location. We used the boat with the electric motor for an evening cruise, had a bonfire, cooked all our meals in the kitchen, had game nights, and appreciated the ample parking, as well as the 2 bathrooms. There was plenty of hot water for showers, and the drinking water tasted good! We trailered the ATVs approximately 30 minutes to Babbitt one day and Ely the following day, as we prefer trails that are solely for ATVs and run through the forest. There is a network of trails just outside the cabin; many include gravel roads, as ATVs are permitted on roads around Embarrass. There is a map on the cabin wall showing trails and trailhead parking. What fun! Thank youl

This property is located on a private lake that contains Northern Pike, Bass, Perch and Sunfish. We practiced catch and release. The cabin itself is old but quaint with a wonderful personality. We viewed eagles, deer and various other wildlife. We will be staying here again.

Love the North Woods and The Little Lodge!
Year 2 visiting. My wife and I made trip 2 as we loved the first time. Mitch is amazing as he somehow ensures your visit is with the Lodge and the lake. Wonderful experience! We lacked nothing and anything you want or need is a text away. If you visit during winter we have no advice...if you visit northern MN during summer...deet,deet, deet!!!

A Nice Getaway
Overall, we had a good time staying at this property. Quiet location and the home was kept very clean. We also had a fun time out on the lake with the boat. The home can get warm at times, especially during mid-day (summer) but it never got to the point where it was unbearable.

Cabin up north
The property was as described, no frills but a nice retreat. We used the cabin as our base camp for skiing at Giants Ridge, 20 minute drive to the ski area on beautiful backroads. I recommend this cabin and Mitch was a great host. There was tons of snow but everything was shoveled and plowed perfectly.

Snowmobile Cabin
We brought our sleds with and had a great time snowmobiling on the nearby trails. We rode past Giants Ridge, through Virginia and all the way up to Tower and back. It was only a couple miles of ditch riding to get on the trail system from the cabin. Very quiet and peaceful area. We wish it was dog friendly, but we'll definitely come back to stay again!

Was a great location for snowmobiling adventure, had to ride ditch about 2.5 miles to trail but then access to the entire trail system. Home was very clean and kitchen was well furnished for use. The home was a little drafty but the heater kept it warm and comfortable. We would rent again!
