"The property is a bit dated but the staff and the friendly gentleman that prepares the breakfasts make up for it! The dock leading to a gazebo with the hammock swing was my favorite feature. The Sound catches beautiful sunsets and that spot was perfect to watch it. The light house and historic bath house can be seen there as well. My stay was short- but I plan to go back!"

"The whole experience was great! The house was exactly as described and it was immaculate. We had paid to have our dog there but changed plans and the fee was refunded right away. There was an electrical outage (due to work being performed in the area) and our hosts checked in on us right away (I don’t even know how they knew!) It was just as easy as possible."

"Great to walk to private beach. Bring a 4WD vehicle as 4x4 beach is also very close. We cooked large breakfasts and dinners so kitchen well stocked. We left dishes a little cleaner than found as previous families may not have been clean freaks like us...Lots of hot water for all 11 of us to shower. Pack extra washcloth as each room gets 1 to share and 1 bath towel per person. Pick up propane or check gas grill if you plan to use. You are supplied 2 dishwasher pods and 2 washing machine pods. Nice neighborhood with trees and walkable areas. House is even for sale if you love this area!"

"Farther to the beach than described, I believe, unless went in a straight line through back yards. I recommend renting a golf cart. Should clean up some trash behind the house , not a big deal. Fire alarm went off three times for no reason. Now for the good!Pool was great! Plenty of space and the kitchen / family room was perfect!Loved the hammock and the views! With the golf cart took a ride every evening in the wonderful neighborhood and the grandkids Loved it!Would definitely recommend!"

"The property is a lovely, quiet destination where you can relax and enjoy beautiful scenery. This is a a nature-lover’s delight as you can marvel at waterfront sunrise/sunsets, bird watch, fish, and cruise around on your kayaks (and that’s just at the property — Kitty Hawk beach is an easy 30 ride away). The renovations throughout and ample room sizes makes this an excellent choice for families. My husband and I plan to buy a set of those Turkish Cotton towels! They were an added bonus after a nice shower!! Highly recommended!! We would visit again."
