If it's your first time travelling during the COVID-19 outbreak, you'll notice a range of new restrictions and rules in place. Follow these tips and make your getaway to Elafonissi a smooth one:

• Research what, if any, restrictions or rules apply to both your destination and origin. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so don't forget to check before you book your flight.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask at the airport, even at screening checkpoints. Be ready to lower your mask for ID purposes when asked by a TSA officer.
• Rather than handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, place it directly on the scanner yourself. Then, hold it up for inspection.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now permitted in your carry-on baggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag for screening.
• Place any personal items (phone, wallet and keys) in your carry-on instead of a bin to reduce handling during screening.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping your food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA employee will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
