"We recently stayed at Estrellas de Gredos and were really disappointed. The place has stunning mountain views and a traditional curved ceiling, but a lot of things went wrong. The biggest issue was a broken sliding door that wouldn’t lock. When we told the staff, they showed up unannounced at 22:00 and just said it was safe to leave it unlocked, which didn't sit right with us. The inside felt cheap too. "We spent two nights at La Covacha in July and it was an excellent Casa Rural. The owner greeted us and she gave us a lot of good information and amongst other things good directions for two walking trips with fantastic bathing opportunities in the Gargantas. The pool was nice and so was the mini pond with frogs. The large room was clean and breakfast was good as well."
