"I never comment on hotels but this one is a hidden gem in Douala. The street it is on is not that great but the staff, the food, the room, everything is just perfect. It is a luxury hotel that is not pretentious and I love it. The only "critic" would be that the pool is small and directly in the bar/restaurant area so it lacks some privacy for people in bathing suits... I recommend strongly."

"The positives: This is a 5-star hotel and Douala and Cameroon should be proud of this hotel. The building is impressive, the furnishings, the decor and the rooms and the suite we stayed in was absolutely stunning. The reception was worthy of a 5-star hotel. The staff were amazing. The negatives: the windows from the rooms are dirty and do not give a good impression of the hotel. They can be cleaned from the inside so that guests have a good view from the hotel. The carpet in the hallway was stained in some spots. High-end hotels are getting away from carpets altogether for many reasons including health. The swimming pool area had too many people who were not there to use the pool. In fact some outside people came to record selfies for their social media posts. It’s a shame a hotel of this calibre would allow that. Also, access to the pool should not be through the restaurant. I raised all these concerns in person and the staff were very receptive. In fact, Nelly who is a public relations staff was excellent as she took time to hear me and offer some helpful background information. I loved the spirit displayed by the staff of this hotel. The owner and management have succeeded well here. I can only wish them well. "
