We stayed briefly at the Kingsbury and our overall experience was fantastic. It's central location is great for exploring Colombo if your trip is short and the actual hotel and food is fantastic. Our room was spacious and clean, and had a great view.
The only minor issue is that staff weren't communicative at the restaurants about how to order or the expectation for the buffet/high tea or settling the bill. It was slightly awkward trying to figure out whether we could just grab food or we had to wait etc. It'd be nice if staff provided direction.

We loved our experience from beginning to end. A tranquil and beautiful place, with so many places to rest and explore within the walls. Loved the room, the pools, the food was excellent, the store for crafts and the wildlife surrounding us was the perfect way to recalibrate after a long flight and shake off any residual stress. We would love to return.

"The elephants were great but we were not told about check in being after 3.00pm and early arrival would have to pay an entrance fee! To add to the confusion the hotel emailed me cancelling my 4 rooms at 2.00pm. When I contacted them, no apology just that it was a mistake!"
