Cozy Cottage in the Woods

A beautiful 1 bedroom cabin in the woods of Door County 8 mins from downtown Egg Harbor and 5 mins from the best beach in the area (Frank Murphy Park Beach)

The Space
Welcome to our Cozy Cottage by the lake! This cabin is tucked away on about an acre and a half of wooded land. This property can be enjoyed all year long! You can enjoy the wood burning fireplace and proximity to Egg Harbor in the winter, watch the wild life come alive in the spring, relax after a day at the beach in the summer, and take in the seasonal colors and fall festivities!

The house accommodates 4 people with full 1 bed and a queen pull out couch.

We have high speed wifi that can stream TV. It includes a mesh router and 2 extenders to get wifi in and out of the house.

The TV in the Living room is a Amazon Fire TV. You can download and log into any app and stream from your profile.

Central heating & Air

Kitchen Amenities:

The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, Stove, Microwave, Coffee Pot and Toaster. We also include some pots, pans, crockpot, strainers, cups, plates, mugs, wine glasses, Tupperware (please don't take), silverware and other basic baking supplies

We do have a second unit on the property that could be rented to a separate group. You won't share any space other than the driveway.
Other things to note
• All guests must be 25+ (children with parents okay)
• 4 person max
• 2 vehicle max
• No parties or events
• No smoking
• No pets
• We provide a start of toilet paper and paper towels but you may need to buy more for longer stays. That includes 2 rolls per bathroom and 2 paper towel rolls.
• We provide a starter amount of dish soap. If you need more please buy your own.
• We have a hairdryer
• We supply hand soap
• We do not supply any shampoo, conditioner, or body wash.
• The fireplace is not available for use from April 1 - October 1
• In the fireplace on months please open the flue when being used and close it when you are done. The handles get hot so please be careful.
• No late check out or early check-in. If you arrive early or check out late there will be a $50 charge per.
• No fires outside of the fileplace including candles.

Nice cabin. Clean, bright, spacious and blissfully quiet! Tucked back in amongst the aspens, oaks & maple trees. Hubby & I are somewhat "long in the tooth" so we aren't smart enough to figure out the smart TV! We were perfectly fine with that though. Our intent was to photograph the color and milky way! Mission accomplished.

Great peaceful retreat

The cabin is super clean and quiet! We enjoyed the close proximity to everything Door County has to offer, while being able to retreat to our own place in the woods. It was the best of both worlds. The cabin is extremely comfortable.

The cozy cottage was wonderful and as described. Spotlessly clean and everything we needed was there. We had a glitch with the code box to get in to the cabin, but our host was very responsive and we resolved it. A towel bar in the bathroom would be a nice addition. Great experience.

Very clean cabin in the woods! Although bed is pretty small for two adults and reclining sofa in the living room, that’s supposed to be a queen size, is not very comfortable! So I would say this is a little bit overpriced because family of four cannot stay there! Even for two it wasn’t very comfortable to sleep! Everything else is very good!

Wonderful, convenient spot for a Door County getaway. Needed to replace a few lightbulbs. Could have used more bath and kitchen towels. Convenient little cabin

This little cabin was very nice for our two night stay in Door County. Just south of Egg Harbor it was a quick drive to any of the State Parks and other small towns. Check in and check out was straight forward. Cabin was clean, had dishes, pots and pans. Only thing missing which could have been included in the description but I missed it was shampoo and soap in the shower. This little cabin sits right behind a larger cabin so a little less private than I was expecting but it wasn’t a problem.

Comfortable, clean, great atmosphere

Great little spot to enjoy a week away! First impression, this place is astoundingly clean. From the kitchen appliances to the bathroom to the building itself, everything feels new, when I walked in I half thought I must have been the first person to stay there. There is lots of comfortable space to relax after a day of exploring the peninsula, with lots of light from the windows and skylights with great views of the surrounding woods. I particularly enjoyed looking out the back while eating breakfast in the mornings. Only complaints: there is a window with no shade in the bedroom and the morning light made it hard to sleep in. Also the internet service was hit-and-miss, frustratingly it seemed to cut out during the rain, when staying in and streaming would have been most welcome. But overall very satisfied with my stay, would recommend.

Mostly cozy cottage in the woods

Beautiful surroundings. Cozy and comfy except for the bed and flat pillows. I have hip and shoulder arthritis, was hard to get comfortable and fall asleep. I would suggest updating them. Would have been helpful to know about the construction on Hwy 42 and in Egg Harbor. A little difficult to find the cottage, so maybe directions from EH could include distances on each road. May I suggest adding a towel rack? There was nowhere to hang towels to dry. (The shower curtain rod didn’t hold the weight). It may be helpful to have instructions available for how to use the TV. It kept asking for a password. I don’t mean these as complaints, just want to offer suggestions. The cottage was a lovely place to stay while enjoying time in Door County. These suggestions might make it a little more comfortable, though. Overall, this is a lovely place to stay.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean and ready for us. The communication with the owner was good. Here are the Pros and Cons. Pros - Extremely clean. Beautiful setting in the woods. Most serving and cooking cooking utensils included. Ample closets and cabinets for food storage. Living room and dining room furniture were good. Nice bathroom and shower. Nice towels. Great skylights and windows. Internet worked but was spotty at times. Kitchen appliances were modest but ok. Adequate parking. Cons - TV worked but we couldn't figure out how to use it. There were no directions so we didn't use it. Lack of hooks or towel racks in bathroom. One hook on the bathroom door was broken. An additional night light would be nice. Only one tiny night stand in the bedroom. Two would be better. The walls need decoration. There were hooks on the walls, but nothing on the hooks. No dishwasher. Needs new dish drying rack. Lack of address to find the place. The host gave good directions, but the address would have been helpful so we could use GPS to find it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the place to other couples. It's small, but adequate for 2 people and maybe a child or 2 that could sleep on the couches. Rating is A-
