Wonderful long weekend stay.

My family really enjoyed our stay at this lovely house in a great location. It is great proximity to a variety of activities, restaurants, and shopping and the hot tub was a great way to unwind after a long day of outdoor activities. Would definitely stay here again when we visit in the future.

Awesome place

Our family had a terrific trip! We enjoyed the cottage very much. Kids loved the game room. Location was great for us for hiking and Adventures on the Gorge adventures.

Outstanding Stay in Every Way

We loved Cardinal Cottage. Location was perfect for all the hiking and sight-seeing we wanted to do. The house was very cute, very clean, and very well stocked. It had everything we needed. Host was extremely responsive. The neighborhood is quiet with glorious trees and some wildlife to observe. We could not have been happier.

Such an amazing home base for a visit to the NP

We stayed for a week-long family trip to explore the New River Gorge National Park and the surrounding areas. The location was perfect, the house was so nicely renovated (cooking in the kitchen was dreamy!) and we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the property. Everything was exactly as it is represented in the listing! The host has amazing communication and was able to quickly resolve any small issues we had. I highly recommend this location!

West Virginia getaway

We wanted to see the New River Gorge & surrounding area and the Cardinal Cottage was the perfect place to stay. It had everything we needed including 2 king size beds. It was located in a peaceful setting on 11 acres. Our group consisted of 2 couples around 70 yrs old. The house had easy access and the 2 showers in the bathrooms were easy to get into. The owner was super responsive and answered all of our questions. We had a wonderful week!

Wonderful place to stay

They had everything you needed at the cottage. It was enjoyable to watch the deer, turkeys and bunny from the back deck each day. You are just a short 10-15 minute ride to the New River Gorge Park, which was so convenient for exploring. Not to mention if you forgot to pack something Walmart was only about 15 minutes away. Yes, we had to make two trips to Walmart during our 9 day stay. I suggest stopping at the Secret Sandwich Society for a meal. Their food and service was excellent. We had a wonderful time.

Pleasant and comfortable

Cardinal cottage played host to a group of 6 couples and one dog. We had everything we needed and especially enjoyed the hot tub to soothe our aches after rafting and hiking. The views from the deck were also a highlight as we spent every morning and every evening watching deer and listening to bluegrass. Home is very close to a couple of great hiking trails, rafting outfitters, and the Burrito bar at Breeze Hill. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the large kitchen for our group. We look furward to returning.

Clean & Nice Amenities

I stayed at this house with a group of friends who does an annual trip to the Fayetteville area at least every year. It was very clean and nicely decorated with good quality, bedding/linens, etc.. The general location was nice. It’s a gorgeous area in general, but the house is very close to other houses, so if seclusion is important, know that it is not secluded, however, the way the house is set up with a larger porch facing the game room, fire pit, and a beautiful open meadow, it does feel private when you are out back. The hot tub, fire pit, and string lights really enhance the outdoor space. We loved the large TVs in the living room and bedrooms and enjoyed the high quality kitchen appliances. We probably wouldn’t go back in the winter because we like a fireplace, but we would definitely consider going back in the summer or early fall.

Perfect location for a peaceful stay near New River Gorge. It is close to everything … restaurants in Fayetteville, Adventures on the Gorge, Babcock State Park, and even Summersville Lake.

My family and I loved our stay at the Cardinal Cottage. The location made for easy access to everything the New River Gorge has to offer, and we were able to bring our dogs along for the adventure. I'm sure we will be booking another stay at the cottage in the future.

First off. This property is within the national park with a plethora of hikes and scenic overlooks that are all under a 30 min drive. The house was very comfortable and clean. The property was private with wildlife all around. After a long day of hiking or rafting the hot tub was the perfect end. I would come back

Favorite Vacation Cabin!

I’m very picky about cleanliness and details. Compared to other places we’ve stayed, this was my favorite. We wanted to experience the eateries in the area, and I was on vacation from cooking, so we didn’t use much in the lovely kitchen besides coffee mugs and a few glasses and silverware. Nearly everything was provided that we needed and then some. Would book it again, for sure!

Nicely furnished cottage!

Loved the property! Learned a valuable lesson about GPS in the area though! We quickly figured out that taking Lansing Edmond Rd. To Route 19 is the best way to get anywhere!! Lots of one lane, mostly gravel roads around the area. The cottage was so comfortable! Great sleeping! Owner was very responsive.

Peaceful and Serene

The Cardinal Cottage was an awesome escape. It had all we needed in a beautiful location. We loved the privacy, peace, and the views of deer, turkeys, and birds. Cardinal Cottage is a Winner!

Awesome property! Bright and fresh with lots of natural light. Beautiful large kitchen with plenty of cookware and dishes. We appreciated the gate at the deck stairs so we could relax in the hot tub without worrying that our fur baby would wander off. Convenient to the New River Gorge area.

Family vacation to explore the New River Gorge

We stayed with our 2 young kids and dog and came to explore the New River Gorge National Park. The location was perfect and close to the Gorge, visitor center, and minutes from the Endless Wall Trail! We enjoyed a fire in the fire pit and watching the sun set from the property. The kitchen was well equipped and had a very nice gas range! We had a great stay and the Gorge offered spectacular views from the trails and overlooks.

Lovely stay in a winter wonderland!

My husband, pup, and I stayed here a few nights after the new year. The cabin was such a lovely place to watch the snowfalls. We also loved bird watching and seeing the deer. Kitchen was well-stocked so we stayed put, relaxing and playing games. Thank you for a relaxing start to 2025!
