Took my folks to Orcas Island for the first time. The house had more space than we needed (and hence was more expensive), but it was beautiful and the view was to die for. The location is off the beaten track but still very convenient. Being able to stand outside and hear nothing but birds, the wind, and water lapping on the (inaccessible) beach down the hill was a welcome change from living in the Seattle area.
It took us a few attempts to find the house (my fault, mainly). The driveway is fairly steep and isn't paved (glad I had my Subaru). Getting into the house was easy, and the home was in immaculate condition. It had everything we needed and then some. The Internet speeds aren't blazing fast, but it was more than adequate.
We were put off by what smelled like ant spray, which was traced to the kitchen sink. (The property management co. thought it was detergent in the laundry room, which definitely not the case.) We found some air freshener in one of the bathrooms which made everything smell like oranges, which was an improvement.
The bedrooms are nicely equipped and clean. The bed was fine, though the pillows could use replacing. Note that there are no blackout curtains so the sun may wake you up earlier than planned. As the listing says, the house uses radiant heat and you may hear noises from the water heater if you're in the master bedroom.
We didn't get to spend as much time in the backyard as we'd hoped, as the entire island was being invaded by bees. Thankfully, you can enjoy the same view from inside. It was fun staring up at the tall pine trees from the hammocks down the hill, though the hike there was a too steep for my 70-something parents.
Overall, we'd definitely stay here again, hopefully with more members of the family to fill the extra space, and defray the cost a bit more.
