This is an amazing cottage that is perfect for couples who would like to kick back and relax, only a stone’s throw from the amazing Sea of Cortez! Of course, when you’re ready to move from the beautiful veranda, there is a long list of water and land sports and activities that you’re likely to find will make the days go by far too quickly!
Among those amenities that this seaside casita has to offer include a living room, complete kitchen, spacious bathroom, separate bedroom with king bed, washing machine, complimentary wifi, and satellite-TV!
Also, of more interest to some than to others, we realize, the gardens are professionally landscaped and regularly maintained. We have one 2-person kayak and two 1-person kayaks available for guest use.
There are few places in the world where the mountains meet the water in perfect harmony, as they do here. Situated on a beautifully pristine, natural turtle nesting beach cove, this beach front home is situated in what many consider to be the most desirable neighborhood in Los Barriles.
Enjoy the brilliant Sea of Cortez sunrises and the amazing sunsets; relax as you barbeque and dine on your spacious veranda, under the star filled skies; and just feel the calm as you unwind from the hectic pace that you’ve left behind. You’ll marvel at the sight and sounds of breaching whales and the sting rays jumping out of the water to fly through the air; then “belly flopping” back into the water.
Kite boarding, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, and snorkeling on a coral reef in safe, swimmable water is all within steps of your home. If your preference is to be on dry land, there are amazing hiking and biking trails nearby, ATV’s are available for rent in town, along with yoga and a new and well- equipped gym, to mention only some of the fun things that you can do. And, located about 1 ½ miles from Casita Tortuga is one of the very top attractions in the Baja, the new, world-class Tres Palapas Baja Pickleball Resort, featuring 10 excellent courts, with amazing amenities that includes a café and smoothie bar, a restaurant and rooftop bar.
A 45-minute drive north from the San Jose del Cabo airport gets you to the entrance of the Los Barriles, the quaint little town that is home to about 5,000 people; approximately ½ locals and ½ expatriates. Casa Tortuga is situated a little over 3 miles north of the center of town and is an easy ride to pick up fresh fruit & vegetables, grocery and beverage needs, and, a good variety of restaurants serving quality, delicious food.
Please note that the property is not suitable for those with small children, given the proximity to the Sea of Cortez, coupled with the fact that there are some stairs on the property and the balconies have low or no railings. Please note, also, that this is a non-smoking property.
