"The cabin was cozy within a beautiful setting. It was close enough for us to visit the local state parks. What we appreciated was the kitchen being well stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans of various sizes. We would definitely consider going back there again."

The Railroad Scale House: 40 private acres & creek

"This was the cutest little railroad scale cabin. Plenty of firewood for fire and a beautiful fire pit. The property is clean and landscape beautifully. The hosts were so accommodating and kind I couldn’t ask for a better host. Wi-Fi worked wonderfully. Plenty of clean towels and dishes not to mention all of the utensils and a toaster oven microwave and coffee maker to boot. TV has streaming service which was great after a long hard hike. Can’t think of one thing they missed. We’ll definitely stay again if we get this way again."

"Fantastic Stay – Exceptionally Maintained!We had a wonderful time at this property this past weekend! The vacation rental was exceptionally well-maintained and incredibly clean from top to bottom.The location is absolutely fantastic. It is the perfect spot if you need reliable Wi-Fi, great cell phone service, and close proximity to town. Outside, the property features a lovely fire pit with beautiful views of the mountains. The hosts kindly provide firewood for the campfire and request a donation if you use it. Just make sure to bring cash with you so you can place it in their donation envelope.Even though the weather was blazing, the AC works very well and kept us nice and cool on extremely hot days. The only downside to this property is the lack of an on-site washer and dryer, and there is no local laundromat nearby. You will just need to pack extra clothes to account for this.Overall, it is a stellar property and we highly recommend it!"

"Surprisingly good hotel, we would stay there again. But here are a few suggestions to improve: The emails they send in the days preceding the reservation are misleading. They suggest eating at their own 220House Restaurant, but it is permanently closed, so that was not an option. Also, on arriving, there was nobody at the desk There were two phone numbers taped to the door. One dialed to a NY #, the second dialed to a Florida #. Both were were non-operational phone numbers. The phone # in the email was also invalid. We almost panicked, thinking that we arrived at a ghost hotel that was shut down. There was QR code taped over the button on the intercom and we didn't see the button at first, but then hit that and someone answered. All's well that ends well, but management might want to rethink how present contact options for arrivals. The other problems: 1 roll of toilet paper, and I'm sure we could have just called and asked for more, but the path of least resistance was just walking to Family Dollar next door and buying a roll. Also, hallway lights would have been nice. Our room was more of a suite with a hallway to the bathroom and entry, and it it was impossible to see anything. The microwave, fridge and coffee maker were in this dark hallway. The room was 89 degrees when we arrived, but it was a heatwave, so I won't hold this against the hotel. But it did take about 3 hours to lower the temps to sleeping tolerance."
