This was a charming country house hotel, with friendly and professional staff. However the room was a huge disappointment. While sold as small bedroom nothing prepared us for how small. No room to sit or put anything. The small furniture had the appearance of having born bought in a jumble sale. A hotel which purports to be a quality country house hotel, with rates to match, should have no rooms like this so inconsistent with a 'Hotel of Distinction'. The bathroom extractor fan sounded like an Apache helicopter landing and was unable to be mended duding our stay. Not value for money and the room was not the treat we were anticipating.
This is a beautiful place to stay, room was beautiful and the food was cooked to perfection. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you chirnside hall hotel.
A lovely relaxing hotel. Set in nice grounds with some very good views south over the border country towards the distant Cheviot hills. Great friendly and attentive service from all the people we were looked after by. A very nice room. The dinner and the breakfast were both excellent. We are already looking forward to staying there again.
Beautiful location on the Scottish English border. Calm, tranquil place. Breath-taking countryside. Wonderful staff, caring and very welcoming and helpful. Great food. Great night’s sleep too. Will go again because it is a little gem of a place.
All the staff here at the wonderful independent hotel are a credit to its owners. I've never felt more welcome in a hotel and I travel a lot. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and our dog, including a special menu for me - what with me being a fussy eater. The hotel is charming, spotlessly clean, quiet, traditional and in the perfect rural location.
Wonderful stay. On arrival we had a lovely warm greeting & then an upgrade! The room was spacious & well fitted. The hotel itself was incredibly comfortable & relaxing to be in. The meal was also exceptional.
We stayed at Chirnside Hall as a family party of 8 to celebrate 2 landmark birthdays and from the moment we arrived were made very welcome in this well presented and comfortable hotel. Staff were friendly and accommodating and Rosie in particular remained cheerful and helpful despite seeming to be there almost the entire time we were! Food was excellent and everyone enjoyed their choices for dinner, very unusual 😏, while breakfast was a feast which kept us going all day.
We really enjoyed our stay. The Staff were so helpful and friendly. The really made you feel at home. The breakfast was to die for, with an amazing choice that I you will only see in a top class hotel. We stopped in several hotels on our tour and this one was our favourite.
Comfortable accommodation with welcoming staff and good food.

Could be perfect with a couple of changes.
An amazing place with stunning surroundings. Service levels as expected during Covidplus we arrived early. had to go elsewhere for lunch but that wasn't a problem. Evening meal and breakfast was excellent, compliments to the chef, would recommend for a meal only as well. Rosie was an excellent host and very attentive. the room was disappointing for the money, very small compared to others. I did email in advance as it was a special occasion asking to pay for an upgrade, but never received a reply. For the same money and booking, the other couple in our party had a room twice the size for the same money! Also a shame the beds were terrible. mattress clearly very old as you could feel the springs and very little cushion, a topper would have fixed this issue. If they can sort this out then we would visit again.
Stayed for one night on business with dinner, bed and breakfast included. Dinner was fabulous and the breakfast excellent. My room was immaculate with excellent wifi. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
